It's weird on IMDb it says it's coming soon, but it's not opening until August 17th.

August? Wow, by the advertising I'd seen, I thought it was due way earlier than that.
That said, it's a small movie and probably not very "important" to the studio, so it's probably been delayed a bit.

So, according to IMDb, the movie finally opens today in the States. Anyone planning on seeing it? Unfortunately there's still no release date listed for Australia (or anywhere else in the world).

I wanted to see this movie but it was only here in Canada for a week apparantly. Totally missed it. Guess I'll have to see it on DVD (or I could just look in a mirror).

It actually screened? Because there's a bit of controversy about the film being held, and a subplot being edited out, and I was under the impression it was in a state of flux. I'm guessing those of us here in Aus will have to settle for an eventual DVD release, though.

Apparently the issues with its release have been to do with a subplot about cancer. The distributors don't like it and think it should be cut, while the filmmakers believe that it's the heart of the movie.

I watched the film today. It's finally released on DVD as a Blockbuster Rental Exclusive. I loved it. I don't understand why distributors would have wanted to cut the cancer idea. It's not even a subplot, it's the reason they do what they do in the movie.
Anyway, I don't know if it's released internationally yet, but everyone should try to get their hands on it. It's hilarious! Star Wars fans will definitely appreciate it. But my sister, who hasn't seen episodes IV, V, or VI really enjoyed it too, so you don't have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it.
