Being a big fan of movie trailers, I thought it could be a cool idea for people to post and comment on movie trailers that they've seen. To kick things off, I've included a few below (linked to YouTube versions to save bandwidth for everyone):

Speed Racer teaser trailer
From the Wachowski Brothers, who made the Matrix trilogy comes Speed Racer. People seem to be lapping this teaser up for some reason, but after watching it, I just find it inexplicable. I enjoyed the cartoon, but this movie looks nothing short of terrible.

The Dark Knight trailer
Batman Begins was great, and the full trailer for The Dark Knight looks like it'll be topping it in every way. In the Dark Knight thread, some comments have been made about Heath Ledger not being able to live up to Jack Nicholson as the Joker, and this shows what a different (and scary) performance he's bringing. Completely unrecognisable.

Tim Burton makes great movies, and this looks like no exception. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter do what they do best, and this looks like Burton doing his thing with adults in mind.

Repo! The Genetic Opera trailer
Warning - this has a little freaky violence. Another musical, this one featuring Anthony Stewart Head with Sarah Brightman, in something that looks like an odd cross between Phantom of the Opera and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The music's good, it looks kind of scary (though blackly comedic), and it looks like something that will need to be watched for the sake of it.

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story trailer
I saw a bit about this on TV tonight. The latest comedy produced by Judd Apatow, this is a send up of biopics, a la Walk the Line, and stars the always great John C Reilley in the title role. It looks quite silly, though the music doesn't sound too bad, and it has been nominated for two Golden Globes. It also features cameos by Jack Black, Justin Long, Jason Schwartzman and Paul Rudd as the Beatles.

I want to see Repo! Giles!! I think Heath Ledger may be better as the Joker than I'd thought so thats on the must see list too now.

Tony Head has a small part in Sweeney Todd, too.

That's the first time I've seen that full Batman trailer. I'm very, very excited for that.

Prince Caspian. This looks really good too. But I remember loving the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe trailer and was a little disappointed in the movie.

Re Sweeney Todd, I heard that ASH's role was cut out of the film.

Re TLTW&TW, I thought it captured the essence of the movie well enough. The Prince Caspian trailer does make it look like a superior film, though.

I don't get what everyone was bitching about with Heath in the first place. I think he's a great actor. Don't know why he'd suddenly lose all that talent and suck just because he's playing a character that Jack has, albeit somewhat iconically, already played. But honestly the Batman movies have never really floated my boat before I'll go see this one though i'd say - looks nicely messed up

Walk Hard looks amusing

Walk Hard looks great - On Rotten Tomatoes, it's listed as having about 94% positive reviews at the moment, so people seem to be enjoying it.

As for Heath, I think a lot of the people bitching about him in the role were doing so, not because of a perceived lack of talent, but because he's not the "type" of actor you would expect for the role. As talented as he is, he's not known for over-the-top performances, and I think that had people worried. Jack Nicholson on the other hand has given his fair share (or more) of manic performances, so it wasn't a stretch. And I think this is what Heath has over Jack in this regard - as entertaining as Jack was, he was Jack Nicholson playing the Joker. Heath, on the other hand, is simply playing the Joker. He's separating the character from the actor, which is something Jack never did.

The movie does look nice and messed up. It has some of the most creative posters I've seen for a movie in a long time, focusing on the Joker. I'll try and hunt them down at some point and post them in the Dark Knight thread.

I haven't been getting into a lot of comedies lately, but this one looks pretty good.

I'm looking forward to The Dark Knight the most. I admit that I was one of the few who thought Heath Ledger can't cut it as the Joker but after watching the trailers, he definitely took me by surprise. I can't wait to see it.

REPO! looks interesting as well. Has a very oringinal concept to it.

i saw a trailer for will smiths new movie "Hancock" today and im really looking forwards to seeing it, i have heard a few pretty bad things about it but im gonna watch it anyway, sorry i cant seem to find a link for it tho

I cant Watch it because it needs apple Quicktime, and my PC wont let me install that crap on my computer lol.

but I think Will Smith is just Great, I will watch it purely because of his acting Skills.

Wasn't sure where to put this.....This is from the movie Superhero Movie. I don't know about the rest of the film but this guy is so brilliant at doing Tom Cruise that i imagine the Scientologists will be having him erased in no time

LOL, I'd seen that before. And it's the one thing that's made me think the movie might be watching. But he does do a scarily brilliant Tom, doesn't he?

The new Dark Knight trailer is now out.

But perhaps more interestingly (and amusingly), when they debuted the trailer as part of the marketing plan, some people won what they thought was a print of the trailer - turns out, it's "Jokerized" version - The Dork Knight. Basically, it;s been cut up and graffiti'd over by the Joker. It's pretty amusing. Quality's a bit dodgy, having been taped from the reel being projected, but it's still cool.

I have conniptions whenever anything about Australia comes out. The setting, the story, my favourite actress, one of my favourite actors and the genius that is Baz has me very excited ;D There was a trailer released today. Its the only one i can find on the net at the moment so i hope everyone can see it

Oooh that was awesome! This movie will be good for tourism I reckon.
