Soulless Spike was a great character. His character went downhill as soon as he realised he was in love with Buffy. I didn't mind him in most of Season 4 but Season 5 Spike was pathetic and annoying. I didn't like his character from then. I hated him being on Angel, I found him to be pointless comic relief. Gotta agree with Shaun there. I didn't like Spike in Season 5 at all. It was during then that I started hating him and became anti-Spuffy. He became quite pathetic and I hated how Buffy-whipped he became. |

I don't think it was out of character for Spike. Fool For Love shows he was always single minded about getting the woman he loved. Sure he went about it all wrong, but even for Dru he did anything for her.
