I also liked Groo. He was sweet to Cordy, and treated her how she wanted to be treated- like a princess. I think if Cordy hadn't liked the way he treated her like a princess, then we would have stopped. I also felt very bad for Groo when Cordy started to fall in love with Angel. Plus, Groo was probably needed to help Cordy realized that she loved Angel.

I honestly Couldn't stand him. His eyes freaked me out, the fact he waited on Cordy hand and foot made me ill.. mean seriously if someone did that to me I'd have a fit because I've learned that having someone wait on you all the time is disrespectful to them etc.

I always felt that he was a character with potential that was ignored. Maybe that's cause all the other characters are so multi-dimensional (hey, that's actually kind of ironic) but it seemed like he was always just a plot device. As for creepy eyes I never noticed the eyes specifically but I always felt he had an unusual look. I think I liked it.

I agree with everything said there, except him having potential. Maybe it's because he was so two dimensional that I never saw it. Every character has "potential" I guess, but Groo got to the point where I'd rather see a new character rather than have his potential explored.

I did find this funny.
Groo: "This weapon should serve me better."
Angel: "Ah, a little big for our purpose, don't you think?"
Groo: "I've had no complaints."
I loved how Groo got a little snarky at the end but I admired him for finding the courage to confront Cordy about her feelings towards Angel. He could have been really 'dog in a manger' about it but he gallantly stepped aside so that the woman he loved could be with the man she loved. I did feel for him there.

I really looked at that more as a single saving grace with him. After all the episodes where he had no personality, for him to fail to confront Cordy would have been ridiculous. And, if he wasn't gallant about it, it would have been out of character (what little we got, there). Really, Groo is probably the only Jossverse character who I think was written horribly. Well, him and David Nabbit who just bugged me.

I'm pretty certain David Nabbit was a spoof. Specifically on Bill Gates and loosely on all computer/dotcom nerds of the 90's (they were all roleplayers you know. I played with many of them ). I mean it's laugable that someone so incredibly inept at social graces be suddenly elevated to the in-crowd of Hollywood, but it happened. Plus throw in the fact that demons, magic and dungeons are real and it almost writes itself.

Oh, I get that he was a spoof, but he just bugged me. He was annoying rather than funny, imo.
