I was wondering what you guys thought of Angel(us) and Darla. Did you enjoy how Darla brought out the dark side of Angel or how it is implied that Angelus and Darla played mind games with each other? Did you enjoy the bond they shared when Angel was willing to die for her and when she was pregnant (the scene when he has his hand on her stomach and she puts her hand on his is sweet even if the words are disturbing afterwards) or what about Angel's ability to make Darla.... *cough* three times in one night ?

I like Angel and Darla and Angelus and Darla but Angel/Angelus has great chemistry with everyone.
Darla is one of my favourites.
I loved Angelus with her. His evil seemed worse when he was with her. The modern Angelus just didn't have the same *uh* as Angelus with Darla. He was great back then. The accent was cool too.
I was a huge fan of Angel/Darla. I always loved how Angel, even though he deeply resented Darla, still greatly cared for her. He struggled to kill her the first time, the second time and he was clearly upset when she died the second time. I loved that he was willing to have a relationship with her to raise Connor. It was very nice and a great dynamic.
And about Angel making Darla... *cough* three times... Well, I doubt there is anyone he couldn't do that too. Nina certainly liked it and so did Darla. Shame Cordelia never got to try.

I love Angel with Darla. I think they compliment each other well and their twisted relationship was fascinating and sexy.
I think he killed Darla to easily in Angel, it should have been harder for him, and it was only explored how hard he took that in Ats S2. But then I dislike the Darla that appeared on BtVS up until that point.

I really like the dynamic between both Angelus and Darla. Mutual respect, and a twisted kind of love. I also like the dynamic between Angel and Darla - he realises there's a connection, and there's that history, and he tries to avoid it.
But the point when Angel and Darla get together when he's at his lwest point is fascinating stuff. The history that the characters share is one of the more interesting ones in the Jossverse.

I love Angel(us) and Darla together. It's strange how their relationship soulled and soulless are so different, but at the same time so the same. I could always feel the passion between them. Angelus and Darla were a great duo and there was a twisted level of caring for each other when they were soulless. You see that when Darla leaves the Master for Angelus, when she saves him from Holtz and when she accepts him back in China.
Angel and human Darla shared something amazing too. They had a past, a common situation and I think the passion for each other was still there no matter how much Angel tried to deny it. Angel went to insane lengths to save her. Yes, we know that Angel helps a lot of people, but besides Buffy we have never seen him willing offer his life for someone else. I think it was more serious when he did it for Darla. During that time in Season 2 I found myself wishing that they could work something out even though I knew it wouldn't happen. And Darla's death (in Season 2 and Season 3) had a huge impact on Angel-I loved how it threw Angel into a dark spell in Season 2. I actually think that killing her in Buffy did hit him hard, you just have to look at the expression on his face.

I'm posting again because after re-reading my original post I thought it sounded too shippy.
I do still think they had a twisted caring for each other when they were soulless. Yes, if it comes down to him or her they would choose themselves, but Darla did save him from Holtz and was upset after he got his soul.
I still think they spark a lot of passion, it's seen in flashbacks and the Convent scene in Dear Boy. After that though, the passion was mostly gone and Angel threw himself full force into saving her. He did, I think, care for her not only because of her past, but because he cared for her soul and wanted to help her earn redemption like he himself was working at.
I did like to see how much of an effect she has on him and I actually enjoyed his little dark spell in season 2 and thought it was fitting that he would do that after having to watch her be turned.
When it comes down to it they have great chemistry, a complicated past, unclear and unresolved feelings and a dynamic that's great to watch on screen.
