Now, I have created this thread because something came to mind the other day.
Spike is always said to be an anomaly among vampires because he seems to have good in him even without a soul. Is this completely true? I ask this because of all the vampires we have seen, all have shown humanity and good sides. e.g. Darla loving Connor, Elizabeth and James, Holden, Drusilla. But Angelus on the otherhand has no humanity in him. The judge tries to burn him but cannot. Even the Judge says he can sense humanity in Spike and Dru.
All other vampires seem to have a capacity to do good, not much, but some, but Angelus doesn't seem to have it.
So, does this lack of humanity make Angelus the true anomaly in the vampire world? Is he the one and only vampire who is nothing but pure evil? Does this add to the theory of Angelus and Angel being separate entities while other vampires don't seem to be separate?
Thoughts.

Ha, that's funny. I'l have to take a look at that.
But what you have said, that agrees with what I am saying. Is Angelus really the anomaly?

I think vampires by their very nature have humanity in them but I think what the Judge looks for is intent which is what Drusilla implies Dru: (Buffy) so full of good intention.
I think the Judge senses feelings and intent, like an empath demon. Angelus is a vampire so he isn't a pure blood demon, he is a half breed with humanity in him in that respect. What Angelus lacks is good intent or at least what the Judge would class as good intent. I doubt the Judge would have burnt the Master or Darla either. Dru I'm not sure, although I doubt it, she can love but she is a sadist like Angelus. Spike though, I think would have been able to be zapped if the Judge was at full strength. He's a bloody uncle Tom lol.

Darla only showed any humanity when she had Conner's soul inside her while pregnant, she knew it would leave once he was born. She had no humanity whatsoever either. Same with the Master, Kakistos, any of the old vampires shown. Its shows some have the capacity to love each other yes, but not to care about others they don't love who aren't evil.
Spike however shows he cares for Dawn, someone he doesn't love. And that was not all for Buffy, though perhaps in part. He did genuinely care for Dawn. Even cared about Anya's feelings in Entropy. And uh... what did Mr Trick love? Eh? He showed brains, but he showed no humanity :dunno:

I said he showed more than just the artistry of evil. He was in it for the money and the like.
