I was just reading about the upcoming Angel comic, Auld Lang Syne and it says that issue 3 will see Spike and Angel have a brawl to end all brawls through the streets of LA.
Now, is it just me or are the writers playing off Angel and Spike's rivlry a little too much? We have seen Angel and Spike fight 5 times. Now we will have a sixth fight which seems to be the final fight between the two. Now, does this annoy anyone else? I mean, Destiny was degrading to both characters and now we have to endure another one, if we read the comics. The only consolation would be if Angel won the fight. lol.
Seriously, does anyone else think this rivalry has run it course and is getting really old really fast? Does anyone else see the pointlessness of it and does anyone find themselves getting a little annoyed at the writers for degrading our characters further?

I thought they had solved all that crap out. And realised that they are better off fighting evil than each other.

Obviously not. Now they're having another fight. I take from the wording of your post that you don't like the idea of another fight. May I agree with you on that.
I don't understand why they can't leave them as equals. That was what they were established as in Season 5 and I think the majority of fans like them as equals. Now they're dragging it up again to decide who's better.
Why do I get the feeling that this will continue as long as the Buffy/Angelverse is going?

Oh god, really? Jeez, there's only so many times they can fight before it gets tiresome. And that was about 947489735 fights ago.
...Okay, so I exaggerated. But still, I do think they're playing off of their rivalry too much, yes.

I suppose it depends on the circumstance but I'd agree that most of the issues were resolved between the two. I don't mind them having a genuine disagreement about something (as Angel has done with other members of the fang gang over the years) but not one which would result in an all out fight. They really need a strong justification for this one.

Uh, dude, the series is completed.
And it goes far further than Spike and Angel's rivalry, though that aspect is there... but it's very minor.

In my eyes, the series will never be over as long as there are stories to be told and writers willing to write them. Plus, IDW are planning on writing a canon Ats S6 comic series. Sorry, bro but the show ain't over yet. Maybe the rivalry is only minor but they are making another conflict between two equal vampires who resolved their issues. If they have a fight again it will just drag out those who rave about who the better fighter is. I used to be one but I saw past that in Series 5 when I realised that they became equals, with a slight dominance by Angel, and the writers weren't shy in showing that. I preffered them as partners fighting together, not each other and I think they should remain that way. And again I say, the only consolation would be an Angel victory.

Well, considering that you started this thread to discuss something happening in a comic book miniseries and not Angel the TV series, that's what I was reffering to.
