It seems I started a discussion in the wrong place . I voted Bangel. I love Bangel, and everyone complains that it wasn't mature or too dramtic, and I say: it could have become mature, after the shows ended and they were ready for it. High school is a time for immaturity and drama, and that is why their relationship may have seemed melodramtic or corny- that's high school!

Yeah but if you have a melodramatic girlfriend you can get swept up into it.

Ah or you can be the grounded, mature one in the relationship? He showed he was capable of maturity and an adult relationship with Cordy. Imo his relationship with Buffy was yes a high school fling, and my god with the yawning-ness.

He did show a level of maturity at times. How he dealt with Buffy trying to read his mind i thought was mature. But when your girlfriend is crying about you putting yor life in danger and you act all blase about it, she is going to kick your arse

Mmm he showed maturity at times. So did Buffy. Basically I think they ruin each other's character. Both are much much better characters apart. Angel in particular is a woeful character when he's with Buffy, yet Cordy brings out his good side. And Buffy, well Buffy is better in no relationship really, but Angel in particular made her awful.

I think Buffy and Angel are both better single. Cordy's friendship brought out a nice side to Angel but i am glad they never worked out

I agree, which is why I think the Cangel relationship works much better than Bangel. Buffy and Angel brought out each other's worst sides, at least from a viewers perspective I think though she helped him get the motivation to fight evil and stop being a pathetic bum, she essentially brought out his immature side and wasn't great for him. And she was never able to turn him into a person (well vampire) who cared about people on a more personal level. Buffy turned him into a fighter, Cordelia turned him into a person (so to speak). He definitely wasn't good for Buffy either imo. As she said herself when talking to Willow about Riley when she was noticing him - it was different because Riley wasn't making her miserable. Cordelia and Angel complimented each other nicely.

I change my previous opinion now that I have seen ALL of Angel. Angel/Cordy should never have happened, just because she helped him become a Champion doesn't mean they have to get all snuggly. I don't think Angel is good for anybody considering he is a Vampire who will lose his soul with perfect happiness. How can anyone see a relationship between Cordy/Angel be anything other than painful? . I actually thought they ruined each other when they fell 'in love' .
I don't like the Buffy/Angel relationship but it was ALOT easier to watch than Cordy/Angel. Plus Buffy was a Teen who had to grow up pretty fast so her natural immaturity brought out Angels Immaturity.
