Bahaha I'm evil. They have their individual threads for discussing those ships on their own, but which do you prefer and why? If you like one, do you automatically hate the other? Which was the better relationship? My vote swings Cangel's way mostly because I dislike Bangel I have other reasons but I'm interested in other opinions first

Cordelia and Angel. It was a far more realistic and mature relationship than Buffy and Angel. Buffy/Angel could have been an interesting relationship if it hadn't been so corny.

I used to hate the idea of Cordy and Angel together because I always saw Cordy as the biatch from Sunnydale for a long time, but after watching a few episodes of season 3 (keep in mind i haven't seen much of that season) I did see a real connection between them.
But I voted for Bangel because 1) I know more about there relationship, therefor have more feelings toward it and 2) I think Buffy really was Angel's true love, but after a while, I don't think Angel was Buffy's true love ... she faded from him.
EDIT: BUT I did think it was messed up when Angel still said Cordy was the girl he loved even after she (yeah so she was evil) slept with Connor. Ew.

Ah hun that wasn't Cordy that slept with Conner - it was Jasmine, using Cordy's body. Cordelia wasn't in control AT ALL its hardly fair to blame her for that.

Nice one Beck!
I always have and always will be a bangel fan but I have grown to appreciate Cangel as well, I disagree with a lot of people that believe that you must like one and hate the other simply on principle.
I know everybody thinks Bangel was corny and it really was but thats partly why I love it, it speaks to teenage girls that giggle at everything and think the best date ever is at the back row of a movie theatre! it also represents Buffy's age, she only 16 so she's bound to over dramatize and say corney things. Angel on the other had is completely smitten with her which is very cute and maybe sometimes he can go over the top with it.
But over all I think the relationship was good for both of them at the time, perhaps once they've both faced the challenges they needed to get through, they could come together in a more mature relationship

Oh f**k off! I love Buffy and Angel together and i am in no way a giggly 16 year old who thinks the best date ever is the back of a movie theatre I find it dramatic yes but not corny. As i have said many times its the forbidden romance thing that i find attractive. It's at the core of many of the great romances of history, literature and film. Cordy and Angel i don't find as disgusting as i used too. I can now accept that Cordy had changed and that Angel was ready to love someone else apart from Buffy. But sorry all the Cordy/Angel fans their relationship just doesn't resonate for me P.S. Very drunk right now. If this makes no sense then well, deal with it

I will never like Cordy/Angel. I cant get behind it at all. I like Buffy/Angel and i dont find it corny. I find it overly romantic perhaps. But as a hopeless romantic myself i can relate to what i was seeing. It had passion, much more than what Cordy/Angel ever had. Like Dawn said it was all crazycrazy which is what relationships are usually about. The fact as well that it was very poetic, Slayer and Soulled Vampire (also original )

Buffy represents the ideal for Angel. She is a visionary like him who needs to define her mission as a slayer (Buffy's slaying philosophies) which mirrors Angel's developing philosophies on being a Champion.
Without Buffy Angel, may have never been a champion and if it were not for that Cordy wouldn't have been a champion and hence Angel wouldn't have fallen in love with her so Bangel matters in my opinion. Buffy helped Angel form his own ideal and mission but ironically Buffy and Angel no longer fit into each others world. They have their own missions. This is why Cangel works better for Ats Angel because Cordy doesn't define her mission as such (like Buffy does) she contributes to it and is Angel's 'link' as the 'seer' (parallel with Spuffy).
So in short both Buffy and Cordy were perfect for the repective periods in Angel's life.

Well yeah it grosses me out too but it wasn't Cordelia. As for Bangel having more passion - there was plenty of passion in Waiting in the Wings They never got the chance to have a more passionate relationship because Cordy became a higher being and missed her meeting with Angel to tell him how she felt. However Cordy and Angel shared a trust and understanding that Bangel never had. Buffy herself admits early on that she doesn't trust Angel - and that doesn't change imo, as evidenced by Ats Season 5. Angel will always be important to Buffy and vice versa and yes they were important to each other and obviously to the story line, but they make me gag :dunno: Its the only relationship on either show that the writers make fun of themselves. They're only able to do that because it was so over dramatised.

Waiting in the Wings wasn't real Thats like saying look at the passion in I only have eyes for you. And i'd rather not because that episode is crap. How you can say they make you gag when you love The Prom and I will remember so much seems like a massive contradiction to me. Thats two really important moments in their history (maybe not so much for Buffy inregard to IWR )and two really powerful moments. Ones that make me enjoy their relationship no matter what else happens. I admit some of the reason i like Buffy and Angel is because it was the first thing that i truly loved about the show. I remember clear as day all those years ago watching Angel three time in a row Like i said before i can accept Cordy and Angel now but i never cared that they didn't get their chance

They do make me gag in most episodes. I also hate Angel at the end of IWRY though yes I love that episode. They aren't gag worthy and cringe worthy and all broody/angst - they're happy. At least until the end which I don't like for reasons I have explained somewhere else (can't remember which thread). I love the whole episode The Prom, its greatness surpasses any gagginess. Actually I think that ep is fairly free of corniness, and the bits that are there I can look past. Buffy's reaction to the break up always gets me and thats nothing to do with their relationship. I also like him turning up to dance with her and it being simple and no mush. I don't hate Bangel all the time - just in most episodes. Cangel also annoy me in certain episodes - most notably when Angel notices he loves Cordy because of Fred's carry on. So he had feelings for her - make them come about some other way

Like Cordy/angel together much better. Buffy depressed and mopey in all her relationships and better alone. I not like her character and dont like her with anyone she ruins the boyfriend she with. When she with Angel he more moody and it all about her and he not able to be his own character a lot, riley got made into a jerk with her and spike laughable when with her. all those characters stronger and better on own. Cordy and Angel compliment each other and give strength.

I f this the Buffy and Angel relationship was the best.
Buffy and Angel are soul mates (since Angel dose have a soul) Their love was beyond the normal i love you it was bigger.
I didn't think their love was Corny at all..... Even though their relationship would never have worked with Angel never going to die and him having to see Buffy grow all and die.. ect... (same reason with the Cangel relationship it would have never worked plus it was just plain strange)

My vote goes to C/A because they were just perfect for each other. They were best friends and their love matured from that. They knew each other inside out and it was just very nice to see.
I also like B/A though and I always will. It is like first love and for me it is first ship. It was the first ship I ever shipped and it will always be special to me. Both C/A and B/A are my favourites simply for what they represent but C/A will always stand tall for me.

Ive not seen much of C/A but I'd said Cangel, because I think it was more mature, just like Spuffy it wasnt depressing, it was good to watch. and I agree, it was nice to see , and to watch Cordy and angels relationship grow, right from the start.
