I realized we had a Jossverse vampire thread, so why not a Jossverse werewolf one?
So, would you want to be one?
And, if you were one, could you live with it? Could you stand having to be locked in a cage a few days of every month, even though there's still the chance that that wouldn't prevent you from murdering someone

Personally, no. I would never want to have the possibility that I could kill someone-- even if I were a werewolf at the time, I could never live with myself after that. And if you ever got your memories back of when you were a werewolf, how could you ever deal with remembering ripping someone apart? I couldn't do it.

Lol, Paul.
I would also hate to be a werewolf. I wouldn't like being locked in a cage, and I also would not like the fact that I am actually a werewolf a few days out of every month. Plus, if I ever escaped, the thought of a killing possibly one of my friends, would just disgust me.

I'd just hate to be out one night and getting locked in the pound... Worse still, they may neuter me.

So, Allan, is that like a natural thought train for guys? I become a werewolf, I might be neutered! I'm really glad werewolves don't exist. I could never live with being one. But what would you seriously do though, like if one day you found out you were a werewolf? How would you be able to react to that? Personally, I'd be in denial for quite some time. I think I'd need my Dean Winchester to help me through that. But in all seriousness, I don't think I'd be able to deal with that. I don't see how anyone could get over being turned into something so vicious. It's only three days a month, but still, that would be really hard to deal with.

Yeah, I don't know what I would do either. I'd probably search madly for a cure, and if I couldn't find one, get a very secure cage and make sure my loved ones knew to steer clear.
However, I don't know what I would do if I ended up killing someone...I don't know if I could put myself down either, though.

If I was ever a werewolf , I am not sure I would cope, I wouldnt be able to kill myself (When im human obviously) and I wouldnt be able to ask someone to kill me, and I would be to afraid to tell someone I was a werewolf , i would hope I would die as a werewolf, its way to much responsibility , and to much guilt to have to lock myself up .
I'd also be in denial for a while, which again is bad.

Yah I doubt I would cope well either, I wouldn't be able to die, I value my life to much, so killing myself while human wouldn't even be an option. No someone would have to lock me up. I dunno, but no being a werewolf I would not be able to do.

I'd also be afraid to tell someone that I was a werewolf, but I would have to. I would have to make sure my family knew, so they could stay safe and so someone could lock me up.

Erm... I can't think of ANY advantages to being a werewolf

Neither can I. Paul's response summed it up beautifully.

I think the question should be perhaps, 'Could you cope with being a werewolf?' or 'How would you react if you found out?' That's actually not a bad question. McManus tried to cut himself off so he could protect people but had nothing left to live for so he just let loose. Based upon that, I'd try to keep my ties, found a system that works, hopefully that would give me reason to fight the beast inside.

I would if I'm able to control myself changing into a werewolf - like Oz can before Willow made his control go all wonky. I wouldn't mind choosing to change whenever someone pisses me off so I can scare the shit out of them.

The fact that you would probably kill them wouldn't bother you?

The fact that you would probably kill them wouldn't bother you? Meh, they'd still be scared! Seriously though, I took it to mean that Irene would be in complete control of herself when in wolf form, if she can control when she changes.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Even after I've transformed into a werewolf, I still am able to control myself. And if I can't, well, like Allan, they'll still be scared.
