The bias of Spike!?

Now you see, I would say that DB is the best male actor on either show. He played a lot of things and he did them all very well. It has to be remmebered that he only acts Angel as he does because he is told to. But he acts as broody Angel, beige Angel, dorky Angel, Angelus etc and he does them all wonderfully. Also, he can turn into anyone of these at any second so you never know what he will do next.

JM is a wonderful actor and nearly every one of the cast is but I do hold DB in higher regard. I hold SMG in higher regard as an actress than CC or AH but that isn't to say that I don't think they're good.

You know, I think I've come across as a Spike hater haven't i. LOL. Can I just say, I am far from hating Spike. I don't like Spike fans that make up crap for him but I'm yet to see any of them on this site.

Mmm I think he got better but I don't think he is as good as JM and neither of them are as good as ASH imo. And there aren't any members on here who would make up things about even their favourite characters

No, no. We're sane. And I agree with Loz and Beck, I don't consider DB a very good actor. I can tell he's acting, and I shouldn't be able to. JM on the other hand is very believable as Spike, and it's hard to believe he's not like that all the time.

I think I liked DB best when he was Angelus, rather than Angel. I don't think he's a bad actor, I just know, having gone through acting training myself, that it's much easier to commit yourself to a character like Angelus who is filled with anger and sacrasm, than it is to play the straight man all the time. I think David is better suited to character roles and I wish I could see him play a hardcore comedy character. That could definitely be interesting.

I personally don't see any faults in his acting, in everything I've seen him in I can see him as the character and not 'Angel' or 'David' whereas with some other actors I find if difficult to make the distinction. I think James is a very good actor but I don't like him in smallville from what I've seen, quite a lot of the time its like he's trying too hard

I agree with Tash. Except for maybe a few moments I've always thought he was good, especially as Angelus. I'm sorry, but I don't see how anyone could disagree that he plays Angelus amazingly well. David's now doing Bones and besides the sort of Alpha Male quality the characters have I think they're very different and he plays them differently. Especially when dealing with women

My friend studied acting and I took a class and we agreed it's more difficult to play the introvert than the extrovert. To play an introvert, hold interest and display all the subtlties deserves merit imo. There were so many emotions DB played under the surface.
