Okay, I'm thinking of all three shows here, and wondering what characters people would like to see spun off into their own series', movies, whatever. In a perfect world, obviously, where it was all possible. My thoughts, in no particular order (as they come to me): - Faith - follow her path of redemption, fighting against the darkness, or whatever
- Ripper - Because I was bitterly disappointed that it never happened
- Tales of the Slayer - There was a comic about this ages ago, an anthology series focusing on various slayers throughout history
- Badger - Badger's little crime syndicate in the Firefly universe would be fun.

I always liked the idea of a Ripper spinoff. I don't know about Faith, it depends what characters they spun off with her. She definitely still has a story to tell though. I'd like to have seen any spin off of any of the Firefly crew really. None of the characters got explored as much as I'd have liked because there wasn't time I love Jayne, though I'm not sure if he could hold a show as the lead.

Faith could probably work on her own, with new characters. Either that, or Gwen - she had a lot of potential.
As for Firefly, it's a great universe. While the crew probably shouldn't be spun off, they could still set other stories within the world(s).

Is Serenity like a movie version of Firefly? I have no idea, but if it is, I would like to see a spinoff with pretty much any of those characters, I know the firefly show was cancelled, so like Beck said its not long enough to get into a persons character. Ripper, I hope to god they make a spinoff. Faith im also not sure about,I like the basic Idea of it, like you said batmite with new characters, but It seems to me like it could be like another version of Buffy The Vampire slayer, to much alike, and being a loyal fan not sure I could bare it

Firefly rocks. It simply rocks.
And I also hope that somehow, Joss actually gets Ripper off the ground. I'm guessing his return to TV would now be largely dependant on the success of Wonder Woman. If it makes a ton of money, I think he'll stick to the big screen. If it does closer to Serenity numbers, he'll probably be back doing some TV stuff again.
As for a Faith spin-off, I wouldn't say that it would have to be too similar to Buffy at all. Granted, it would also star a Slayer, but that's about as far as I'd see the similarities go.
Firstly, if it were to be done now, Faith is a few years older than Buffy was during the show, so it wouldn't be so much about growing pains.
Secondly, Faith has a far darker edge. There are many different ways you could take it. Personally, I'd think it'd be cool to have it revolve around her keeping the new Slayers in line.
Instead of it being too close to Buffy, I think there's more of a risk it'd be too much like Angel.

I'm totally with you Faith would be my number 1 priority for a spin off, she's one of my fav characters and I think the tone of her character and the resulting show would fit in perfectly between Buffy and Angel - darker than Buffy but funnier than Angel.
Plus it wouldn't require any characters from B/A to spin off with her, she could be completely remade with a whole new ensamble with new slayers, friends and possibly Robin because their realtionship seemed strong enough
Ripper I'm less interested in simply because it sounds tacky with the use of ghosts and spirits plus I'm not to confident in the BBC's ability to create anything different from Doctor Who

I've always been behind a Faith or Ripper spin-off. I found both characters interesting and they definitely still have a lot to tell.
I can't think of any specifically AtS characters I'd like to see. If we were going for any spin off we ever wanted, then I'd like to see Doyle, but as Glenn Quinn's passed on, that's not going to work.
As for Firefly, I wouldn't mind a spin-off from any of the characters, but Jayne particularly seems to have a story to tell. And a River/Simon spin-off of sorts could be interesting.

Yeah, Robin would be a cool addition to a Faith spin-off. And he's an awesome actor, too.
I think a Ripper spin-off would work. The way Joss was describing it was having more of a psychological edge, with it leaving lots up to the viewers' imagination.

The only reason I would watch a Faith spin off is if it involved the new slayrs in some way, Angel was a vampire still seeking redemption for his atrocities, Buffy was the Slayer and even though Faith is alot Darker, I think its still to alike, slayer slaying Vampires averting the apocalypse, it has to be different in every aspect. I dont relate Ripper to ghosts and Spirits in any way, I always thought of it as more pyscological to, Ripper is dark, and its why im against a faith spinoff, she may be the dark slayer but shes still a slayer, It would be neat to see Ripper playing with forces that shouldnt be meddled with, We didnt see enough Ripper, I personally have seen enough Faith Also yeah I am trying to get my hands on firefly guys, hopefully il get them soon!

A Faith spin-off would be really different to Buffy, at least. And in the current "environent", I think it would need to feature the additional Slayers.
Does anyone have any other spin-offs they'd like to see?

I think Faith would go in a different direction to Angel. There is so much they could explore in her back story and it would be kind of good to see a story from an anti hero Slayer perspective.
The format should be different. Mabye they should focus on what's at stake rather than what she has to fight against.

I always thought a Oz spinoff would be interesting. A show focusing on his travels and what he did, etc. Don't know whether he can do lead but it would be an interesting concept. For me anyways. A Ripper spinoff would be awesome too. It's a shame nothing concrete ever happened. As for a Firefly spinoff, I think a show focusing on Mal and Zoe during (before even) the war would be cool.

A Mal/Zoe one during the war would be very cool. Maybe just a miniseries, telling the story of it from beginning to end...

I would love to see a Faith spin off. Her character is just so interesting to follow. I wouldn't mind seeing a spin off about Oz, but I would rather see one about Lindsey and what he did when he left Angel in season 2.

Ripper would work the best, I think. Cast a young English kid..could be very cool. It would be quite different, but with the same supernatural themes.

i agree with liz, a series set in sixtys london with two unknown actors playing giles and ethan would work well as a stand alone show, the transition of giles turning from ripper to watcher could be intresting to watch, and if unknowns were cast it would be cheaper to make

I'd never considered a "Ripper" show about a young Giles before, actually. When I was referring to it, it was Giles now, with the title that Joss was planning.
That said, a show about him as a reckless kid with Ethan, then growing up to become a Watcher would be awesome.

I like the idea of a show based on a young Ripper more than a show based on Giles. Seems more interesting in my head.
I see more stories to tell and more avenues to look into with a young Ripper than with Giles now in my opinion.

Yeah, for the most part I agree with that. That said, I think that when you tell something that for all intents and purposes is a prequel, your kind of limiting your options.
