She's certainly be an interesting choice. I, personally, can't see her as anything other than her character on OTH (which I must admit I've seen only about 2 episodes of), and it's hard for me to get a sense of acting ability on a show like that (and since I've seen so little of it that doesn't help, either).
However, I like seeing new faces coming into the action/comic book/whatever you want to call it movie genre, because so often it's the same group of people, so a little spice is good.
I certainly wouldn't choose to not watch if she were cast.

It'll be interesting to see how the movie's handled, period. I'm not overly familiar with Sophia, so can't comment. That said, Joss has a track record of finding people who are largely unknown, who work well for the characters.

I would love if Sophia Bush was Wonder Woman, even though I can't see her as that part. But I do love her on One Tree Hill (the show in my sig!) And I can't see WW working out that well anyway.

Any reason for that feeling, Bre?

I dunno. Wonder Woman? I dunno. It just doesn't seem like it'll work. And with the taking forever to find the right actress ... it just seems shady. But it's Joss so there's a chance it'll work.

I don't think it's a matter of them taking forever to find the right actress, since the script isn't completed yet. Once the script it completed, the search for an actress, and other cast members should (theoretically) go quicker.
I'm hoping it's good.

I didn't think Spiderman would work either, and it did (for me and the box office anyway lol I'm sure some people disagree) I don't see any reason Wonder Woman will fail. With joss behind it, I'm hopeful.

As a comic geek, I'm admittedly a little worried about some of the liberties he's taking; ie not taking any villains from the comic and whatnot.
That said, as far as great storytelling and characterisation, he has my trust.
Btw, I thought both Spider-Man movies worked. But I'm skeptical about #3.

I didnt like the Spiderman films and am gutted that Joss has put WonderWoman ahead of any Jossverse plans. Studio Bosses told him that they would be interested in a Spike movie but Joss said he wanted to concentrate on the big screen. But Wonderwoman? There is every chance it will be another Catwoman.

This is where he has to think about his career.
If there was a chance of Spike hitting cinemas rather than TV, it would be a different story. And even if for some reason a big screen Spike movie was likely, what's to say it'd be successful? He doesn't have the name of Buffy - or even Angel - and as Serenity showed, just because people love a TV series, it doesn't mean a movie will be successful.
As for saying it could be another Catwoman, it's a possibility. That said, I wouldn't call it likely. Catwoman was made by an unknown director with one movie to his name, and the rest of his experience being special effects. Not a seasoned storyteller. The movie had four different writing teams involved, which rarely bodes well for a movie.
I think that with Joss, who is talented (both inside and outside the Jossverse), the movie's in decent hands.
I would love to see the Jossverse extended, but I can understand Joss wanting to try his hand at other stuff.

Well wasn't there something going around about Joss doing an original script about some supernatural woman power movie? I think it was posted somewhere here on KAX. Why can't he do something like that? And invest all his time in an original script, which I think would work out a hell of a lot better than WW. And as far as Spider-man goes, I didn't think the movies were all that great. He was so puny. But the third one looks good.

Wonder Woman will pay him more money! That, and it has the potential to make a lot of money. In Hollywood, that equals credibility, and gives him more of an ability to get the funding for other stuff, like that supernatural woman thing. As for Spidey, isn't him being puny much of the point? My problem with the third movie is it looks like they're trying to cram way too much stuff in there, and up the ante because they can...

Money shmoney. He's rich. He's Joss Whedon. That's what I thought the problem was with the Spiderman films, there wasn't enough in them (that and puny man) to make it so interesting. I needed more!! But anyway, spam. Blah... Wonder Woman!!!

But I think it comes down to more than money. Being able to make what he wants to in the future would also have to play a part...

SB looks the part but I can't picture her acting as WW!
I've seen her in OTH so much (I'm a fan of the show) and it's really hard to shake that cheerleader character off her. So it's hard to picture SB in the WW role.
I would prefer if Joss picks a completely new actress for the role. Like what Bryan Singer did for Superman Returns.

I would love it if Morena Baccarin were chosen for the part. She's a fabulous actor and I think this role would get her all the attention she needs to have a successful career. She really deserves it! And anyway, she fits the role perfectly too.

I agree 100%.
Just after the movie was announced, I remember Joss hinted that Morena may have the role, but he may have also been screwing with fans.
She definitely looks the part, and is a good actress.
