I found this on the IMDb page: The Women of WhedonThe list includes Buffy River Dandelion (Sugarshock) Echo (Dollhouse) Fred So who are your favorite/least favorite women of Whedon? I think Buffy is my favorite of all his creations. Her character is so strong and it's great to watch. I'm not a huge fan of Sugarshock so I can't say Dandelion is one of my favorites.

We can't really judge Echo yet... Though I love Eliza, I dunno how the character will be. I have a feeling that she will be kinda like Max on Dark Angel... Thats how I keep picturing it...
Personally my favorite Whedonverse woman is Willow. Though out of the list, I gotta go with Summer.

Um why are only those women on the list? My favourite female character of his would be Buffy, but some of the others are great. If that list is supposed to be only leading ladies then why is Fred on it instead of Cordelia?

I'm not sure. I think it was just a quick rundown of his favorite from each show/story he's created. I'm not positive, though.

this is a tough question, normally i would automatically say Dru, but her character never really developed enough and she wasnt on the shows enough for my liking so i think i would have to choose Faith,

I'll say Fray because she was so different to anything we'd seen before. That said, they're all great except for some characters who we didn't have enough time to see get developed properly. I'd have to Say Buffy,Fred. But must ask who Dandelion, Echo are mean I know who River is because I saw Serenity but who are the other two? Dandelion is from SugarShock, a comic on the Dark Horse Presents Myspace page. Echo is Eliza Dushku's character in Joss's upcoming series, Dollhouse.

Buffy for me, no doubt about that. Least favourite would have to be Dandelion. But my opinion might change after watching Dollhouse. Though I doubt any character can beat Buffy.

If that list is supposed to be only leading ladies then why is Fred on it instead of Cordelia? Maybe because Cordelia was a "Buffy" character to begin with, and Fred is an "Angel" character... But that actually is a good question, I never felt Fred as a leading lady. It was always Cordelia, until season 5, then it was Spike.

Cordelia or Lilah. They were a lot more interesting than the other women, and I also liked Inara a lot but more for superficial reasons than her character

I'd have to go with:
Willow Lilah River Fray Kitty Pryde
And because I want to the reasons:
Willow because (among many other reasons) she was just so adorable. I swear if I didn't find her hot she would make me think of my little sister. She was naive and geeky and just so darn sweet.
Lilah because she never ever denied what she was. She excepted herself and is one of the strongest female characters on shows written about strong female characters. Pity she was evil.
River because (much like Willow) she evoked such emotion in me as a viewer. Picking my favorite female on firefly was my hardest choice because they're all so excellent but I recently watched Objects in Space and so River tops the list.
Fray just kicked ass. Like a combination of Lilah and Buffy and Faith. 'nuff said.
Kitty Pryde (yes, Joss wrote her too) because he took the existing character and kept her as she was meant to be. The X-men that joined the team as a kid and earned the spot of a warrior while still being a kid.
I haven't commented on Dollhouse (cause there's nothing to comment on) or Sugershock (cause I haven't really seen much of it). But I will say Zoe and Faith are close seconds.

Zoe? Really? I think she's probably one of the lowest on my list. She's kind of boring. I think she got better in Serenity and probably would have developed more if the series went on.
And I agree about Fray, she kicks ass!

Zoe was a kind of boring character, but there's no denying that she was a strong female.

The problem with Zoe is that she had no real negatives or flaws which you actually need to make a truly interesting character. Such as a Buffy, Willow or a Faith.

With Joss's gift for characterisation, I always wondered how she would have developed had Firefly lasted longer. To my mind, she only managed to serve two purposes from what we saw: 1) A link back to Mal's past 2) An unlikely love for Wash
