Beer Bad:

* Buffy is really hang up on Parker. Poor thing. From experience, I was really depressed when that guy in high school took advantage of me, but I didn't have the hopes and dreams that he'd actually wake up and see me after things got worse between us. I just knew he was a scum and that he played me and that what depressed me, the fact that I was so stupid to believe him. For some reasons, I wanted Willow to give Buffy a good slap on the face. Wake up, Buff! He's a poophead, get over it!

* Didn't you notice that Xander's voice changed 100% when he yelled "Nothing can defeat the penis!"? It didn't sound like Nicholas Brendon, but still very amusing and funny. It's by far my favorite Xander quote.

*Poor Xander. Looked down on by stupid college snobs.

*With all the Xander/Willow bashing I read about lately in LJ, Beer Bad is a great example of how lucky Buffy is to have them as friends. Xander who was just humiliated by a college guy and his boss, completely ignored his problems and focused all his attention on Buffy's depression. Willow went right to Parker, trying to get him to feel guilty for hurting Buffy's feelings, and of course, love her for humiliating him in the end.

*I saw passion in the way Oz and Veruca stared at each other. Lots of heat. With Willow, he's always so sweet and nice, but there's less heat and passion. I still hate Veruca though.

*Giles criticizing Xander again. lol. Seems that Xander always gets a lecture for being irresponsible while Buffy and Willow usually get away with it because they're Giles' favorite. The only time Giles didn't lecture Xander was OMWF, which is probably because there was no time for that. I'd like to believe there was some yelling from Giles and some guilt from Xander after the curtains were closed.

*Willow's opinion of men is raised here. All men suck. Foreshadow to her lesbianism.

*Buffy's attraction to Xander's smell. Cute. Funny how Xander didn't seem interested. is staring right at those stubborn anti-Xanders

*Buffy looks so pretty in this episode.

*Xander with a moustache looks so stupid.

*Parker looks so much like Xander.

*Riley is such a sweet gentleman. I don't care what people say. I love this man. I wanna marry him. I mean, he's level-headed, tall, broad, has a nice family, nice childhood (no emotional scars like most of the male characters who suffered in their childhood) treats women with respect, isn't offended to be led by a woman. Perfect husband.

I haven't seen this episode in ages. It's not my favourite by any stretch of the imagination, but it did have some classic moments.

Yes ... that was very weird. Must have been a voice over.

This is definitely not one of the better episodes. BUT apart from the whole caveman thing, it was a pretty realistic episode.

And I don't think Xander and Parker look alike.

I think his face doesn't look like Xander, but the hair and eyebrows are very S1!Xander.

Xander with a moustache looks so much like Matt Dillion! I never thought of Parker looking like Xander. But now that you brought it up, there are some similarities.

I really like how Willow seemed to be caught up in everything Parker had to say and then turn the tables on him. The first time I watched it, I was yelling at Willow for being so stupid. Guess I was the stupid one instead.

Quite a number didn't like this episode but I enjoyed it. CaveBuffy is funny to watch. And props to SMG for pulling off a convincing performance.

I loved the WIllow/Parker moment, thats what friends are for.

I liked this episode, the storyline was kinda ughh but apart from that, alot of great moments, and I also loved Cave Buffy, it was so primitive, and the image when buffy was drawing on the walls (with what I hope was Mud) and turned around to look at Giles & Xander was awesome.

Alot of tv touching to, "tiny people in box" haha!

This episode was okay for me. I liked Cave Buffy as well, since she was very funny . I also loved with she hit Parker . The story was kinda of eh, and a little different from Buffy's usual storyline, but that's what made it interesting.

Besides, a lot of season 4 shows the characters growing up (Oz leaving Willow, Buffy moving on after Parker, Giles being apart from Buffy, ect.), and Beer Bad was just another one of these episodes. Buffy had to "experiment" with alcohol, since must people end up doing just that. It showed that even slayers had their weakness, when it came to feelings.

It was all part of her college experience, was nice to see Xander beginning his Job hunt, working at the bar, I felt so sorry for him, when he was pretty much being treated like crap!.

It was a nice break from the soon to be storyline .

I can see why people might not have liked it, and it does seem like it got pretty bad feedback. It was kind of odd that people were turning into cavemen, but we've seen weirder!

I really like the part where Buffy hits Parker over the head. I just hated that guy.
Plus I think it's funny when Buffy says "Buffy strong" and hits herself in the chest. I parody that so much.

I really like Beer Bad. I don't understand the hate for it at all :dunno: Cave-Buffy is hilarious. Her swinging on the chair, sniffing Xander, beating Parker on the head... love it.

And I think for my money, you've just listed the episode's only redeeming features. It's a funny episode like that - where it was funny, it was great, but the rest kinda... sucked.

I'm with Allan, although maybe I need to rewatch the ep. There's not enough meat there for me. The message is frighteningly simplistic. The funny bits were not funny enough for me, I kind of found them a bit 'blah' for my liking. The Willow/Parker scene was perhaps my favourite. Parker attempted that pseudo intellectual justification for treating Buffy in that way and although it can be reasoned on that line of logic, it's clear what Parker is really thinking with. Willow kicked arse in that scene.

I don't think there was supposed to be any other view of Parker, though. For my money, it was apparent that he was cocky, and using that "logic" to rub it in.

I enjoyed the episode also, Seeing Xander Looking out for his friend, she was drinking her problems away which lets face it, we have all done at some point.

Giles fatherly Instincts coming threw for Buffy again, Telling Xander off for serving her Beer.

Wasnt to Keen on how much It focussed on Buffy/Parker Relationship, but Buffy had never had a one night Stand, She didnt even know that it was a one night stand so it makes sense she was was stuck on the after effects.

and it was the End of the whole Parker storyline, always a good thing!.

Also we see more OZ/Veruca, which at the time, was heartbreaking to watch .
