Cordelia changed so much from the beginning of BtVS to the end of Ats. Did she change for the better?
I believe she did, though I miss the Cordy of old. She was such a shallow bitch, but so damn entertaining. She had some great lines while she was in BtVS and early Ats. Then she grew up. She became a caring, unselfish woman who was an important part of the Angel Investigations team. Was she needed in Sunnydale? not really. in LA she became someone who was needed. and as much as a lot of people hated the Cordy/Angel romance, i don't mind it so much.
as for Cordy in season 4 - do we still look at her as Cordelia? or as Jasmine? I tend to think of her as Evil Cordy but really, none of it was her fault. I wish they hadn't done that to her, but oh well. it was good to have the old Cordy back in season 5, even if it was only for one episode.

i only really know her from btvs and i liked her in the, she was funny. Though what saw of her in angel, when she worked for him in the beginning, she was also good. So my opinion doesnt really count *goes and sits in corner*

Cordelia became a better person but she became a terrible character. I couldn't stand her in season 4 but as Beck pointed out do we view her as Cordy or as Jasmine? I HATED the Cordy/Angel thing. When i first heard Charisma was going to Ats the one thing i said was, 'Fine, but if they hook her and Angel up i'm never watching the show again.' Thank the PTB they never really did..... I will say Cordy was great in 'You're Welcome'. I was really upset when you found out she was gone.

its only fair to think of cordy in season 4 as Jasmine. right there with you on the cord/connor yuck factor! but then aging it was also Jasmine! I wish Charisma had come back for more than one ep, i missed that bitch side to her and the gang wasn't the same since she went all accended! But the way they paid it off at the end was amazing. I was blubbing like a baby plus sword fight thats totally cool/hot!

I liked her better before. She was so much fun!
I liked her more when she was a bitch with a good heart. She was more interesting, I adored her on Buffy. But my best Cordy is in S1 and S2 Angel, she was still a bitch but not as self-centered as in Buffy, and she has a good heart but not as a boring saint as S3 and 4 Angel. I liked her when I would go like "Oh God, Cordelia is being nice!" Those moments become are so precious coz Cordelia is rarely nice.

I think it was for the worst. She was awesome up until end of season threeish and season 4 when she was "evil". It was a good story, but I liked HS Cordy better, or Cordy in seasons 1 and 2 of Angel.

I loved Cordelia in every season. I liked her when she was a total bitch and I liked the changes in her character.

I think it was ultimately for the better and bits of the original Cordy are still visible in the later seasons. I really liked "You're Welcome," because although she had been neglected for most of the season it was a fitting goodbye to the person she'd become. They didn't just ignore her development after she went into the coma.
As for season 4 Cordy, I don't see that as her. I don't know when it's Cordy doing the controlling as opposed to Jasmine or someone else, but I don't see her character in season 4 as being Cordy at all since I believe she didn't have a choice in what happened to her and it happened before she returned from the higher plane.

Hmm, i didnt like Cordelia from Season 3 onwards. She became very much Buffy-esque with the billing her as a fellow champion and her fighting skills became a little too good. The Angel/Cordy romance would have quickly been another Angel/Buffy style relationship. I was glad that Jasmine came and wrecked that

I loved how Cordelia grew as a person throughout Angel. I think you'd really have to worry about her goodness if she went through the pain of those in her visions and didn't become more selfless. I hated hated hated what they did to her character in season 4. I know it wasn't her, it was Jasmine, ladada, but, I mean come on, it's Cordelia, you can't make Cordelia evil! But seriously, Cordelia's evilness was bad plus Connor and Cordelia was... icky. I didn't really mind the Cordelia/Angel romance, but I always wished her and Doyle could have had at least one date.

I wasn't a fan of the latter Cordy, not so much because I disliked how her character progressed, but because it seemed like a sudden progression.
That said, "You're Welcome" is one of my favourite episodes.

Man, people tell me to stop hating Spuffy but what is it with the C/A hate? Angel can move on you know. Buffy is not the be all and end all. Cordelia would be very attracted to Angel as we saw in early Buffy and Angel fell in love because of her champion. It's pathetic how things that make characters great are discounted and hated.
Cordelia became a wonderful person but I loved her charcater equally as I did the bitch. Why is her becoming so good such a problem? None of you seem to have a problem with Spike becoming a good person which is far more unlikely in the long run. I'm sorry but there are a lot of messed up opinions on this site.

There are no messed up opinions here. Just peoples actual opinions. Why when you dont agree with people you have to call them pathetic is beyond me.

Why when you dont agree with people you have to call them pathetic is beyond me. I could give you a real long list of reasons why but i think as a moderator that might be a little irresponsible of me Cordelia and Angel is a divisive topic. Its a potential relationship that caused a lot of debate when it was happening and obviously continues today. But while its a topic that people obviously have passionate opinions about there is no reason to get narky. And lets remember people -its not real, its a TV show

I'm sorry but there are a lot of messed up opinions on this site. I don't find varying personal opinions as "messed up" as not respecting said personal opinions, sorry. As for the difference between Spike & Buffy and Angel & Cordy, with Spike, you always saw the dude had a heart, even when he was evil. When Cordy was a bitch, she was vapid, end of story. It could just be that to many people, Cordy's change seemed more out of character.

Cordy wasn't just simply a bitch. Even at the end of the first season she was willing to help out if she could and showed she wasn't cold at heart. As the seasons went on she lost more of her bitchiness and because of her experiences had more sympathy and compassion for people. I don't think her changing was out of character.

I think that the "speed" she grew up at was out of character. She lost her vapid nature incredibly quickly, to the point it wasn't there. I don't mind characters growing up, but the way it happened seemed out of character.

Cordelia slowly lost a lot of her bitchiness in the first three seasons of Buffy. She still had it until she started getting the visions, then it lessened even more. Cordy had been through a lot, and the visions would have shown her very brutally some of the evil going on. She grew up fast because of everything she went through. I'm not sure I understand how you think her development happened too fast and made it out of character.
