Lindsey had been given chances at redemption before, and he threw them away out of a lack of interest. There's only so many times you can try...

I agree there. However, there are also times where he almost started redemption- like when he left W&H.
Like I said, I believe after W&H was destroyed, he had a much better shot at being good.

Yes, he almost did, and then continued down his path.
And as we saw in season 5, Lindsey's actions weren't to do with W&H.

I didn't like the way Lindsey died. Angel thought so much of himself that he made the decision to kill a man who was fighting on the side of good, Angel has partially switched sides before and so what if Lindsey backed out on redemption twice, Angel was about helping people. He did try once, but he had another chance to try to help Lindsey, but instead he decided to have him killed.

I am glad that Lorne shot Lindsey. I was shocked when it happened but to me it made total sense. It's ironic. Angel turned the table on him and had his sidekick kill him which is beneath Lindsey. He was stunned that Lorne did the deed. It was clear to me Lindsey would have prefered to die at Angel's hand. So the joke on him.

I think Lindsey expected Angel to kill him at one point, so Lorne shooting him made it almost embarrassing for him.
It was the moment I realized how far from the mission Angel had gotten, when Lorne joined Angel he was helping, reading people for him so they could be saved and now, here he was betraying an Ally, killing someone in cold blood. It also gave Lornes character the ending of Killer, something that he never ever was.
