He didn't give Conner to Holtz. He was taking the baby away when Justine slit his throat and took the baby to Holtz

Wesley was raised as a watcher, even Giles went against Buffy in the beginning because that was tradition. Wesley had information that he believed would destroy 2 lives and seen only one way out.
I was surprised he didn't tell anyone, he knows that Prophecy's are tricky business and and not clear written, we have seen it sooo many times but in the end he paid for it.
If I were the leader, I would have Joss come on and answer all of our questions personally!

Wesley did try many routes to prove the prophecy wrong though, he didn't take it as face value at the beginning. Wesley did what he thought was right. Had he told any of the others they would have said "No, no that isnt true!". None of them would have taken the threat too seriously - other than Angel. I do believe Angel may have let Wesley that Conner away if he thought there were even a chance he would harm his son. Cordy and Lorne, even Gunn, would have been against it but I don't think Angel would have.

I've been rewatching season 3 lately and one thing that bugged me through this is why none of the gang went to Wesley and asked for his side of the story.
I would have thought that at least Fred would have asked him about it.

Honestly what side is there to be told? If any of my friends attempted to kidnap my child and that ended up with them being stolen by my worst enemy there would be nothing to be said, no reasons, no excuses. Why didn't Wesley go to any of them instead of stealing Connor?

Everyone thought that he stole Conner to give him to Holtz because Lorne saw that Wes wanted to take Conner and that he was meeting Holtz. Everyone jumped to conclusions. If they knew that he took Conner because of what he found out about the prophesy and not because he helped Holtz take Conner, I don't think everyone would have hated him that much. Well, Angel would still try to kill him but I don't think the rest of the gang would have froze him out like they did.
I still don't understand why he didn't tell everyone though. Hate that he did that.

It doesn't matter why he took him, the fact remains he stole Angel's son. I'd shun ANY of my friends that would talk to him if that were me and my children. No matter what Wesley's intentions were he stole Angel's son and he ended up with Holtz. Lorne can read what people are thinking, it wasn't like they jumped to a far fetched conclusion. The others in the group, especially Cordy, also loved Conner.

Oh I get that. I'm not saying that that the gang have no right to be angry. I just think that they needed to listen to Wes' side of the story as well. He at least earned that from his friends, in my opinion.

I get what you are saying but imo Wesley lost the right to have his side heard when he kept "his side" secret for so long.
