I can't believe there isn't a thread on this So who is everyone's favourite character? I'm assuming for most people it will be Angel but my favourites were Lilah and Wesley.

It's got to be Angel for me. I enjoyed his journey and his decisions can always be questioned. Especially after season 2, I thought, there is this darkness inside of him and he has to try and fight it and it goes beyond bloodlust. I also like philosophical, comtemplative characters. He really defines what it means to be a champion (whether it's right or wrong) and it seems he fights more for a cause rather than simply for what's right (like NFA).
Wes' journey is another great one. I find his big picture thinking interesting but I like any character that has interesting moral philosophies especially one's that seem morally ambiguous. Wes in Lineage was amazing, it shows his father is respsonsible for both his ruthlessness and his insecurity. He is such a controlled character and to watch him fall apart is engaging to watch. His sense of humour is also fantastic, so witty and subtle mixed in with the tragedy he has suffered. Wes was always interesting, even in Buffy. He was trying to hard to be the perfect Watcher he became nervous and ridiculous but when he was fired and he simply wanted to help, that showed courage when everyone obviously disliked him.
Faith on Angel was also great. I preferred her on Angel to when she was on Buffy.

I love Wesley. I love geeky wimpy Wes and scruffy tough Wes.
I like most of the characters a lot though.

I think Kana summed up my two favourite characters very well there. On a split decision though i have to go with Angel.

Maybe there wasn't a thread on this, because it's such a hard choice . I guess I'd have to go with Angel, though Lilah is very close behind. However, Angel will always be first. I find it hard to not like the lead character on a show the best (like Buffy), since the show usually shows them the most, so you really feel like you know the character--at least, that's how it is for me. Anyway, I like Angel the best since although sometimes I disagreed with his actions, he never disappointed me in the end...a lot of other characters did.

I know he wasn't on for very long, but my favorite is Doyle. He played a very much-needed part in Angel's life at the time and I think he played an integral role in Cordelia's, too, although more subtley. And vice versa, too, of course.
If I had to pick someone who was on longer, I'd say Cordelia and Fred. There was that aspect to Fred that was very much like early Willow and that I always feel a kinship toward. And Cordelia grew up quite a bit and became a great character as Angel progressed.

I chose Cordelia. I loved how much she grew up (even though I enjoyed her bitchy side more. ) It just shows how much a person can grow. I wasn't too happy that season 4 Cordy wasn't really Cordy. But kinda happy at the same time, because if the real Cordelia slept with Conner...ew. More ew than it already is.

Wesley. I absolutely loved his character development throughout the serise. It was so compelling to watch. Doyle comes a close second for me. If he was on longer, he would have been my favourite character of all. I disliked Angel in Angel though.

I somehow missed this when it was first posted. I thought long and hard, and had to vote Fred. But there are such great characters in the show, it is a tough choice.

I disliked Angel in Angel though. Why do you dislike him on Angel?

Wesley and Lilah for me. Went for Wes because his character was just so layered and interesting. From wimpy Wes to the strong and damn hot Wes he became

Wes definitely had the best development of all the characters. And his interaction with Lilah was fantastic.

Irene! Angel was much better on his own show than he was on BtVS!

After getting to know Angel through the show, I quite dislike his character. And I think it has a lot to do with season 2. I hated how he treated the gang when Darla came back in that season. His obsession with her added with his treatment towards the gang made me hate him. Sure, he had his reason for doing what he did but his actions never sat right with me.
After that season, I never saw Angel the same way again.
I prefer him on Buffy actually. ;D

I didn't mind him on BtVS, but he was really bland in comparison to Ats.

I don't know. Maybe I liked the whole mysterious thing he had going on in BtVS because he was less of a jerk then.

Angel was fine in Buffy but it seemed that when he got his own show he became more a brooding Nancy boy, that didn't impress me at all.

I would have said he was more of brooding Nancy boy on btvs because he seemed a little more badass on Ats overall. Angel being more a jerk on Ats? I would say so but he didn't really have to make many big decisions on Buffy so it's difficult to say although we see more layers on when he has his own show. Selfish, pissy, selfless, giving, he's definitely braver on Ats. He seemed a little reluctant to go against the Master when he was on btvs but on Ats he goes with gusto against the Beast.
