What are everyone's opinions on W&H? What were the best storylines involving them, who were your favourite and least favourite lawyers from there?

W&H were one of the best villains in the verse. Why? Because essentially they are winning. On Btvs there will be some big hyped up bad guy and Buffy would send them packing within a few months of knowing who they are and I thought, well either Buffy amazing or they're kind of lame. I'm sure it's the former . W&H were such a powerful villain which Angel found difficult to fight because their structure is one for power and not justice and that kind of ruthlessness is one he knows all to well when he was Angelus. This where we see that being 'good' can be bloody hard especially when you opposition is working full time to make you crazy. Angel cannot fight the SP because they are inaccessible and he can't kill the lawyers because that's exactly what they want to bring him closer to his darkside. Whenever people judge Angel on his actions in Season 2 I always say 'Hey the guy's being screwed here, he's damned if does and if he doesn't'. The way they treat their employees is equally chlling. I mean they have to sacrifice their children to get in good graces with the bosses? WOW. Lawyers: LindsayLindsay like most lawyers in W&H is about gaining power. He swore he wouldn't be someone to be stepped on like his own father. He showed drive and excellence at W&H and got ahead quickly because he felt he had to better than anyone else. He wants to be a master not a slave. This said, he is not a sociopath. He helps the seer children and he always showers after working at W&H. He recongnises the feelings of corruption but stays out fear and perhaps a greater desire for powerful. Maybe he is more afraid of being powerless than ending up dead. He comes back to get into the COTBT and make Angel doubt himself. Angel says that he hasn't heard anything he said from like years back and he's right. Lindsay is still thinking about power. He had a chance to change, plenty of chances in fact but he was going to he would have done by now. Lorne shoots him saying he's heard him sing. Maybe he realises he has no desire to change and someone as smart as Lindsay looking for power is dangerous and killing him was line Angel was willing to cross. I think I talked about Lilah in another thread so I'll go to my other fave and that's.... Holland MannersHe is one of the lawyers who I really liked. So calm and devious yet always smiling. Holland talked of the sort of conviction one gets when they truly understand their place in the world and I actually don't think he's wrong. The world isn't that complicated, although you don't need to be be unscrupulous to get what you want. Holland is calculating manipulator with a deep understanding of the world and people. He kind of reminds me of Jasmine in that respect who's arguments are very convincing. It's not really about good and evil simply choices. It's up to us to choose which action we take and also to choose what is a moral choice and what isn't. A scary message to the 'good and plenties'. Holland convinces Angel to loose faith. He has fought so hard for what is right and then he realises his problem is the fact that as long as human beings are corruptable then there will always be a place for them. The only other solution to that is Jasmine and Angel decided to price is too high. Holland's vision seemed to live on but that doesn't mean Angel has to accept it, cue NFA.

One response! My favourite from W&H was Lilah. I liked Lindsay but his character in the end got a bit unlikable to me. Lilah was a bitch plain and simple Hated eve. Blergh. Who were everyone's favourites and favourite moments?

Lilah was definitely my favourite. She could have been W&H mascot! I had a soft spot for Lindsey for the first 2 seasons but, yeah, he kinda got boring in the end. I would have preferred if he joined the Fang Gang permanently after he left the firm though. That would have been interesting to watch.

I agree Lilah was definatly the most interesting of the lawyers. Lindsay had an interesting story arc and I like that he had a chance for redemption but gave it up because he thought himself too clever. A couple of the other lawyers were interesting as well (such as Gavin and the other skinnier guy who's name I can't recall) but they really didn't flesh them out much. I was impressed with some of the schemes that W&H came up with too. Bringing Darla back as a human was brilliant.

Lilah was an interesting character. I think the fact that she never really came round to the good guy way of thinking was vital for that character to work. Lindsey was alway susceptible to changing but Lilah was very driven to the evil way of thinking. She had her weak spots but she never let herself be attached to anyone. She hung up on her mother who seemed to be having difficulties just because a client entered the room, and her "relationship" with Wesley was also very unconventional.
I also liked Holland Manners. He was rotten to the core but his it behind his friendly Bernard face haha.
