If Angel had continued through to season 6, where would you have liked it to have gone? Would you have liked them to stay at Wolfram and Hart, or would you have preferred something more akin to previous seasons? What aspects of the shows and characters would you have liked to have seen continued? And should season five have ended the way it did, if we were going to get another one?
Thoughts?

I wasn't a fan of season 5 because of the way it was. In the four prior seasons, family was always at the forefront. Angel did anything to protect them and them him. We had the close bond between characters on a fimilial basis. We had best friends, Angel/Cordelia who eventually fell in love. We had a strong friendship between Gunn/Wesley and Fred/Lorne. In season 5 they lost the family feel, IMO, and I didn't like that. He lost Cordelia and he seemed to be very happy to risk the lives of his friends.
I didn't like the ending really because no one was left. I liked it for what it says about Angel and his place in the world as a champion, but losing his friends and family was a bad thing, IMO.
If Season 6 comics go through I would like to see a return to the family feel. Hopefully they could bring in characters that have a good relationship with Angel so they can build a new family. It would never replace the original by any means but he needs friends and family to keep him fighting and he lacked that in Season 5. I thought they could bring in characters like Faith, or Gwen and maybe bring Lorne back. I would also like to see Angel and Spike build the foundations of a friendship because I felt they had promise in Season 5. And overall I hope they keep the main arc of the series as redemption and steer clear of the big bad of the year scene from Buffy.

Well I'd have liked it to go into totally new direction again. Something brave and post apocalyptic. That's if Season 5 ended the way it did and Season 6 was the continuation. Either way Angel couldn't have lasted long at W&H. One way or another he would have made his move, he was waiting for them to tip their hand and in a fashion Cordy did it for them.
Cast wise, they should have kept Wes if they were going into a Six season. Not sure what else really. I actually kind of liked the way it ended.
In the fanfic I read of Season 6 as a continuation, they had Gwen which was cool, Faith which was interesting because of Angel's character arc and Connor, which I thought was the best ep they did.
Thematically? I'm not sure. It depends on the story I guess.

Hm, I don't know, this is a hard one. I definitely wouldn't want them to be at Wolfram and Hart. However, most of the main characters are dead, so it would be pretty empty wherever they did go . As for what I would want, the first few things that come to mind are: 1) More Illyria 2) Maybe new characters, though I don't know how they could replace the others 3) More visits by Connor 4) Maybe more Angelus

I think something post apocalyptic would be tough now, considering the shared universe with Buffy, and how it would contradict season 8.

What meant, was localised in LA. In the fan fic I read, LA was a demon zone and they were trying to control the chaos. This makes sense because Buffy's elsewhere anyway and apocalypses happen all the time in Sunnydale and Angel usually busy in LA while it's happening.

Yeah, Angel trying to contain the chaos in LA could be an interesting take.

i think i would of liked to see a post apocalyptic l.a. if angel had of continued, i think weve seen enough of anglus tho, but a meaner tougher angel would be cool maybe throw some of angelus traits in him, a cross between the punisher and mad max

LOL, Paul. That gives an interesting visual of the character. Still, I am liking the thought more and more, though.

A post-apocalyptic city and Angel and the gang is homeless, they still help the survivors, but they don't have a base of operations anymore, and struggle to get their lives back to the way they were.

I don't think there'd be much of the city left. Maybe a few buildings here and there...but not much else. Angel and Co. would be one of the few survivors of the havoc in L.A. (and I think that one or two of them wouldn't even survive...). Media would be there as soon as possible, and I think they'd have to find a way to cover it up.
If Wolfram & Hart even was added in again, I don't think there'd be anyone evil around to run it except the Senior Partners, and the gang (or what was left of it) wouldn't be listening to them. They could really start it anew.

I wasn't thrilled with Angel and Co. being at W&H but I liked the way season 5 ended. If it had been continued into season 6, having ended the way it did, I think it would have been interesting to see if W&H had survived, too, and what impact that had on the group. If they were still tied to the firm in some way, would they fight going back? If the apocalypse also happened to sever all ties with the firm, what would they think now of the choices and deals they'd made when the first joined W&H? And their roles in the rebuilding effort could be interesting to see, depending on how Joss wanted to play that part of the storyline.

I think that they would realize that if they hadn't made deals with W&H, a lot of the bad stuff that happened wouldn't have happened. But some good things wouldn't have happened either. So I guess they wouldn't regret it. A couple things they would regret, though, would be the lives of their friends that were taken. If they hadn't made deals with W&H, their friends would probably still be alive.

Weren't there rumours saying that if there was a Season 6, it would be set in a post-apocalyptic time? I think that would be cool to see. It would be definitely interesting to see the fallout from Not Fade Away and how the gang regroup after that. And I would like to see more Conner. He was a more enjoyable character in season 5 - would love to see that in season 6, especially him reconnecting with Angel.

Angel reconnecting with Conner would be great. I'd also like to see them examine the choices they made in season 5, and learn from it. Was it worth it in the end? I'd suspect that the characters wouldn't be too eager to say yes.

It would all depend on how the final fight pans out but I think it was worth it. Some big loss's yes but by just doing the small stuff they we're never going to make a huge impact with W&H around. I'd love to see them about 5yrs down the line and see how they've grown and how different the world is

It would be very difficult to watch/read without Wesley. He was, if not the best, one of the best characters of the show.
They could do the LA scene for a while, but I think they'd need to expand after a while, kind of like what Buffy is doing now. Or I guess if they wanted it to go in an opposite direction as BtVS they should stay in LA. I would just like to see a change.

I think there's no way they could have gotten through that final fight without there being change to some degree. I think they'd hang in LA, cleaning up the mess they made when they pissed off the Senior Partners.

Another thing I would like to see if Angel continued is the repercussions on Angel signing away the Shanshu. That and the reaction from the gang. I wonder what Spike would do now.

It looks like that may be tackled in After the Fall, actually. Angel is now human, though it's not the Shanshu, rather than Wolfram & Hart messing with him.
