If FF hadn't been cancelled, what would you have liked to have seen happen? There are so many potential stories left unshown!
I most of all want to know about Book's back story. And I wanted to see Mal and Inara hook up at least once!

I wanted to see Book's backstory, and I definitely wanted to see Mal and Inara hook up, as well as Simon and Kaylee after they finally hooked up...
I would have also loved to see a reprise of He robbed from the rich, aAnd he gave to the poor, stood up to the man, and gave him what for, our love for him now, ain't hard to explain, the hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne...

wowsers nice link up Allan I'd love to see what happened to Mal to make him so dark and moody before Serenity, but I would also love to discover Rivers journey after Serenity and she got some of her sanity back

I'd want to see Book's back story the most. There's too much left unsaid. Also River's time at the Academy would have been really interesting. But also Mal's story. He's such a deep character and I'd like to know how he became the way he is.

I agree with Mal's backstory, even if it was just by design, and Joss wanting to get the character back to how he envisaged him. Maybe we'll see it in the upcoming comic series...?

Book! How did he know so much!? More of Kaylee and Simon too, I just love them together. And it would be so interesting to see how Zoe is coping without Wash...

While I'm not a huge Zoe fan, I agree that it would be interesting to see what Wash's death did to her.

I would have liked to get more of Book's story. And also delve more into River and what the government wanted with her. This was touched upon occassionally, and it's praobably where the show would have turned its focus as the season progressed. Of course, that's what hte movie focused on, so it was nice to at least see that part of the story find some kind of conclusion.
Aside from that, I always saw the show--what little we had of it--as relationship-focused. There's so much the show had to offer in storylines based simply on the complex relationships of the characters that I'm sure there would have been endless possibilities for Joss and the writers.

More of Book and River. Obviously seeing Mal and Inara together would be awesome, too. But mostly I would want the River storyline. What can I say? I love crazies!

More of River's backstory would be great, and the same goes for Book. As for Mal and Inara, if it was going to continue as a TV series, I don't think we would have seen them get together for a long while, if ever.

But Mal's darkness, didn't we get a glimps of that already? The fact that he faught for something so hard and so passionately and to only find defeat in the end, when he was at his best. To see the Alliance take away everything he believed in and find that his fellow Browncoats laid down arms. Probably would make anyone rather bitter and dark (or dark and twisty as Meredith would say (yeah, GA)) Me, I would of course had love to see Mal and Inara finally confess to their feelings and see where it got them. Would she still had been a companion if they did, or would she leave that profession for Mal? How would their relationship had changed Mal? Would he have found some light at the end of the tunnel and not be as dark and depressing and see the worst in any scenery? And how would Inara had changed? As I said, would she had quit her job? Would she have become harder or softer? Would she survive it if Mal got into trouble the way that he probably wouldn't have been able to get out of. There's so many ideas there and it would have been interesting to explore them. If one ignores the movie, I would have loved getting more info on Book. As he said on the show to Mal when he asked about his past and how he had such an 'in' with the alliance when he got hurt "I surely would, and maybe someday I will." - as opposed to what he said to Mal in the movie: Mal: It's of interest to me how much you seem to know about that world. Book: Wasn't born a Shepherd, Mal. Mal: You have to tell me about that someday. Book: No, I don't. So he contradicted himself there and if the movie had not been he wouldn't have done so and he wouldn't have died, at least not as quickly and maybe not in that way. I would have loved to explore his background and to find out if he in fact was an operative once upon a time, and what made him quit and how he was able to survive after since as we know from the movie, an operative that leaves his job will most definitely be looked for by the Alliance. I'm torn on Wash and Zoe, on one hand I would have loved to see more of their relationship had he not died, because as Joss said in an interview (can be found in the official Serenity book with the complete script) he killed both Wash and Book because you can't fight so hard against something and expect that all of your people will survive. It's not logical and there's probably only one movie around that had all of the good guys survive. If there had been a second season instead of a movie I don't think Wash would have died, I think they would have waited with that at least until the third of fourth season so I would have loved to get more Wash and Zoe, maybe get some trouble in paradise, see the backstory of how they finally succumed to their love (*grin*) etc. But if the season would have been AFTER the movie I would most definitly had 'loved' to see how Zoe would have handled the death of Wash. Would it have turned her into a shell of a person who wouldn't deal - just move on, or would it have broken her, made her more ignorant toward her own death, as she showed in the fight against the Reavers right after his death. Kaylee and Simon - now there's a relationship I'd love to explore, especially since Simon has the nack of saying just the wrong thing. They would have been a little like Anya and Xander because Simon - bad with the words, Kaylee not so much, or well, she's not the best but she's better River - I agree, I would have loved to explore her more, to find out exactly what they wanted with her, and to find out more about Blue Sun and what they were up to. Even if we got alot of answers in the movie, we didn't get them all, and we got some brand new questions as well. And she must have had more information in her head than just Miranda, since she had been in the room with some very important people who knew quite a bit about alot of things we shouldn't really know. Would her knowledge have put the crew and Serenity on a new path or would it have been a sidetrack. Yeah, I have alot of ideas I wish would have been explored and alot of thoughts of what I would have loved to see ;D

I've been rewatching Firefly lately and I realised that there are quite a number of things that I would want to see if the series continued. One of those things is definitely seeing Mal and Inara hook up. I'm very curious to see how they would interact with each other as a couple. I'm more interested in knowing about River's past than Book's. I'm not so keen on Book's character. And of course, more of Simon and Kaylee's relationship.

Why aren't you keen on Book? Is this something you've noticed more while rewatching the series?
Book's past is definitely something that I would have liked to seen explored.

Yeah. Now that I'm rewatching the series again, I'm not really too keen on Book's character. I watched Safe this afternoon and I didn't feel the same curiousity towards Book's character when I first watched it.
This is also the first time I'm watching the series after the movie and I guess the movie made me more interested in River's character more than Book.

It's a show that I wouldn't like to see get too dark, but it is something that had potential to explore some dark places. I think it would have been best if it balanced light and darkness, though.

I would especially like to see Books story but also what about Jayne? Oddly we saw a lot more growth and progression from Jayne as a character then you'd think. In Jaynestown we saw him question morals and peoples need for heroes and of course the events during Ariel and Trash (and the movie) would lead to some interesting interaction between him and the crew.

I definitely want to know more about River, I think she's a very interesting character. How is she doing now? Is she 'normal'? (Doubtful!)

If Firefly had continued without Serenity, I think they would have spent a couple of years expanding on River. I doubt she'd be normal, but her story would have spanned quite a bit further. I'd have also liked to have seen more Badger.
