So what made you watch Firefly.... and if you haven't seen it, why not? Did you check it out because you were already a fan of Joss Whedon? That was my reason. That, and I'd had Loz telling me for about a year to watch it Then Bernie lent the discs off Allan, and 6 months later we watched the first one and then loved it so much we finished them all within a week

Basically, it came down to me being a huge Joss fan, and importing the DVDs from the States once they were released there. It was as simple as that. Joss has a new show? Better watch it as soon as humanly possible. I can happily say that those discs I lent Bernie and Beck have given the world a few new Firefly fans... Though they're currently MIA as I try to figure out who has them.

I don't remember exactly. I never heard of it until I came on here and the main banner was a firefly one. Then some people were discussing Serenity coming out and stuff and I heard it was going to be showing on the SciFi channel so I started watching it then, but then I missed an episode so I bought the DVDs. And they're great. If you haven't watched them - do it!

I haven't seen Firefly . I haven't seen it since it is not shown on TV anymore and I didn't see it when it had been on TV. However, my sister and I are planning on buying it on DVD .

I had some friends who loved it, went to HMV, it was $30..so I bought it! And so glad I did. That was only about three weeks before I went and saw an advance screening of Serenity.

My story's not all that exciting. I had heard about it on BWF, I think. So, I watched it when it reran on the SciFi channel over here. I figured "It's a Joss show, I'm a Joss fan." So I watched it and loved it!

Well, of course I've seen it! So here's my story. I was very reluctant to see it due to all the things that went down with buffy season 7, how many buffy fans felt Joss just abandonded the show for this other show called Firefly. And then Buffy went down the drain so to speak. (I don't mean story whise, I mean the actual show ended) And then on top of that Joss didn't give Chosen the focus it was supposed to have from its creator. He's even confessed to have rushed through some scenes and not giving it his all. All of this made me kinda recent full towards FF and I didn't really want to watch the show that to me felt like the reason Buffy in many ways ended and/or was abandond by its creator. But then I let it go, I think maybe 1½ years, after Buffy ended I finally began getting curious of the show, especially when there started coming reports about Serenity. So I finally gave the show a shot, asked for it for my birthday the same year and when I got it I watched it in 2 days I think, and I've been hooked ever since (But I'm still recent full towards Joss about Buffy)

I watched it because Joss made this show. After seeing how wonderful Buffy and Angel was, I had to check his new show out to see whether if it was just as good.
I'm not a sci-fi fan so if the show was made by anybody else, I wouldn't have bothered to watched it at all.

i have to admit that i hated the idea of firefly space with a western edge to it, and i told myself i was never gonna watch it even tho joss wrote it. but you know how it is your at home with the kids during the day, bored outta your mind and nothing decent is on tv when you come across it and decide to give it a chance, the episode i watched was war stories and i liked it so much i went out the next day and got the season on dvd,

Like so many others I origianally watched it because Joss made it. As much as it is hard for me to say I believe that it is actually Joss' best show. Even better then my beloved Buffy. It's just amazingly well done. (screw you fox!)

I started watching it after I watched Serenity for the 4th or so time and my brother decided he wanted to see more of the characters so I started watching it with him.

I watched "Serenity" first just because I'm a big Sci-Fi freak... I also loved the idea of a Sci-Fi show with a Western edge - I think that works incredibly well!
So, I watched "Serenity" and became hooked and bought "Firefly" on DVD... and the rest, as they say, is history.

Did you enjoy Serenity more after watching Firefly?

We bought Serenity first, it sounded pretty good on the back cover, and it was made by Joss Whedon, so it seemed pretty good. We loved the movie, then a mate told us about the series Firefly, how it was axed in the US (?) so JW made Serenity to "finish off the story". I don't know how accurate that is, but We do love Firefly. And Serenity. About evenly :-)

That's pretty much the story of it. And since the movie, Joss has continued the story with comic books too.

I don't know if "continued" is the right word, or "expanded". The comics take place before the movie. I'm looking forward to the next one, though, since it delves into Book's backstory.

I watched it because James kept talking about it, sounded interesting. I like most SciFi shows so I was willing to give it a chance. I had watched most of Buffy and Angel but they weren't a factor in choosing to watch it for me.
