So I finally started watching firefly properly, just watched 'Our Mrs Reynolds' so figured I could voice my opinion now!.
Firstly I have no idea how Simon can be called a wuss! he was about to get burned alive with his Sister, most wusses I know (and oh I know some wusses) dont self sacrifice!. I also don't find him boring at all so he doesnt have a crazy ass past, I find that makes him stand out.
Secondly, my least favourite character unfortunately has to be Kaylee, her character just bugs me she is like rainbow flavoured fairydust way to sweet for my liking!.
Book- Is great, how can you not enjoy his character? a man of god who knows so much about the criminal life, willing to accompany criminals on there journeys, what is going on with him!.
I also dont mind Inara, I do find Zoe quite a boring character though.

And I think you've just hit the reason that most people love Kaylee. She does get some great moments through the series, though.
