I've had a problem with most remixes for a long time but this morning I saw a film clip on RAGE (music chart show) of a remix of Roxette's Listen to your Heart. A DANCE TECHNO remix and I was pretty pissed off. It ruined a good song (and shut up yes I like Roxette  ) But there have been so many good songs ruined by remixes  There are some covers I like (Shannon Noll's What About me for example) but usually only when they don't completely ruin a song and put it to dance music. I hate it! So... what remixes do you like/hate? Which covers? Would you prefer all musicians to come up with their own music and not rip off others? |

Doing covers is like remaking a movie. I can see artists playing other bands music, but they shouldn't take credit for it. Like Shinedown, for example, remade Lynard Skynard's "Simple Man" but they didn't put it on their album so they weren't really making money off of it.
And I heard some rap group or rapper or someone rapping a tune with Crazy Train in the background.. that ticked me off.

Oh my GOD they remixed Nancy Sinatra's Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down). ARGh. So. Bad. Thats the only one I liked actually. Plus Xander used to sing it so it has an extra cute factor for me! I HATE all Westlife songs! all they ever do is cover versions! crapola |

I'm not a fan of remixes. Especially when songs get turned into some aweful techno/dance song. Argh! Hate those. Oh! There's one remix version of Sexyback that's quite good though. |

I don't usually like remixes, at all. I hate the remix for We Used to Be Friends by the Dandy Warhols. A remix for Chasing Cars was also made, and while it's not horrible, it's definitely not as good as the original, imo.

Listen to MxPx's Remix of summer of 69, it was really horrible ! I think they just use the song name to sell , even if it means ruining a great song |
