I know there has been a lot of controversy about it in the fandom - but to be honest, I don't understand why. I loved the epilogue. Sure, it would have been nice to find out more - but I just loved knowing how Harry's life turned out. It made me cry. So, what did you think about it?

I liked the epilogue. It wrapped things up nicely imo, there didn't need to be more - what did people want, another story about their lives after the Voldemort battle?

I liked it enough, but it wasn't the best part in the book. I didn't expect her to put every detail about what happened into it. I think she maybe put too much. I think we could have guessed that Harry would name his kids after his parents. And when she wrote that Harry and Ginny were married, I thought that was weird. I guess in the books their relationship never fully developed, or it didn't seemed serious enough to me, so to all of a sudden see they're married kind of made me go "huh?".
It was nice and happy, which is good, but kind of too good. I'm not a fan perfect endings.

The tone is quite different - but that's because she wrote it years and years ago, right?
Plus - "I can't walk into herbology and give him love!"

I thought it was shit I didn't think it was necessary and was over the top and ridiculously feel good.

Aww, tis why I liked it. I mean, Harry has had some pretty bad things happen to him - and it was nice to see how normal (and probably a bit boring) his life is now.

Its not shit It also not great. Its a bit too perfect. The first time i read it (in the store) i cried. But that was mostly to do with the fact that my beloved Ron was alive and married to Hermoine The second time i felt things were just too right and wrapped up if that makes any sense. That being said i do think it was necessary for it to be that way. If only to stop the FF nutters from going too mental for the next 50 years

And to finally put an end to the Harry/Hermione shippers. HE THOUGHT OF HER LIKE A SISTER, OKAY! She married Ron! He married Ginny! (yaay!).

I had mixed feelings about the epilouge. It first struck me as not being J.K.'s style at all, but that's probably because there was only happiness in it It was very good for a happily ever after ending, but a little disapointing for me just because that's not the way I wanted the series to end. I simply never thought happily ever after was realistic for Harry. I don't know about you, but if I was him I'd have some serious issues even after Voldemort was killed. And when she wrote that Harry and Ginny were married, I thought that was weird. I guess in the books their relationship never fully developed, or it didn't seemed serious enough to me, so to all of a sudden see they're married kind of made me go "huh?". I disagree. I think it was made quite clear in both HBP and DH that both Harry and Ginny had strong feelings for each other. They were cheated out of being able to persue it at the time because of Voldemort. I think it's very plausible that they would return to each other after everything is over with and that the relationship would progress to marriage.

i didnt like the epiouge, one thing about the harry potter books is that they get darker with each one but the end was like a throwback to the first book, it wasnt in the same style as the later books, i do know that she wrote it years ago but i think it needed rewriting or to be changed completely, it was just too sugary

Would have been quite the turn around if he didnt marry a pureblood. Though i could imagine that his grandkids might stray if there isnt such a big taboo about it anymore.

Has anyone else seen this? It's from the documentary J.K Rowling - A Year in the Life. It's really good.

The ending was very final, all ends were tied up neatly... But i think it was too detailed.

Really? I didn't think it was too detailed, you couldn't fit heaps and heaps in...which is why she's writing the encyclopedia.
