So, just how attached to these characters are you? Have you already been upset enough to cry by the three major deaths? (Cedric, Sirius, Albus Dumbledore) Jo says more deaths are coming. This is a war. Which character's death would/has upset you the most? For me, Harry's death would be absolutely devastating. I didn't cry for Dumbledore - I just felt numb. I was spoiled for it (the night before the release), and it took me soo long to get to sleep. I think I'm going to cry my eyes out at the end of book seven. I've been reading HP for half my life!

I didn't really cry rather I got really pissed when Sirius died. He was my favorite character and I HATE it when my favorite character dies. And with Dumbledore I did, not like I do when I watch Buffy, because deep down I know he's not dead. And if I find out he's really dead then I'll cry.

I don't really cry over books Cedric did upset the hell out of me though. Sirius'death pissed me off. I pegged the book across the room. Dumbledore didn't really affect me, probably for similar reasons to Bre.... i figure he's not really dead.

I will cry when Sirius dies on screen. Like Loz, I threw the book. Dumbledore shocked me but didn't upset me that much, but I think he's not really dead so :dunno: I had tears at the movie when Cedric died, but not when reading the book.

Dumbledore's death: He's definitely dead. Jo said so. Add me to the list of those who got pissed off at Sirius' death. My copy has a huge dent in it.

When Cedric died in the movie I cried. I still do! I didn't as much in the book, but I was younger then... I didn't cry when Sirius died, though I was really sad and really pissed. I will probably cry when it happens on screen, though. With all the deaths I found Harry's reaction sadder than the actual death, though they were still sad.

I didn't cry over Cedric...I cried over why and how he died. I cried for Harry in that moment, and for Cedric's father, and for the funeral and what it meant. But I don't think Cedric's death really moved me as much as the others.
Sirius got me first because he was my favorite character. But, again, I didn't cry right away. It was almost like I didn't believe it. I cried when Harry tried to use the unforgivable curse on Bellatrix. Then I cried a lot when he was back in Dumbledore's office. Again, my grief was through Harry.
But Dumbledore...his was a death that got me right away. The moment it happened, I nearly lost it. And then they way Hagrid found him at the bottom of the tower. It was terrible. That was the one that hurt most. It still hurts when I read it.

I cried through Cedrics death even though I knew it was coming... not a good cry just a OMG that sucks cry, but Sirius' death... poor skitty was online with me when I read it and she had to tell me I should probably take a break cause I was pissed and sobbing. It was a little ridiculous. I snarled straight through book six and didn't really feel anything except numbness when Dumbledore died.. I had been spoiled for that death too. Sirius' came as a complete shock while I was still mourning Cedric, and I was so angry cause Cedric was my fave but he died so I switched too Sirius, then he dies, soI switched to Dumbledore... I just really hated Jo when it was all over for not giving me a moments rest.

I know what you mean. I couldn't believe that all my favorites were in such turmoil. I really hated that, for awhile, we were made to believe that Arthur Weasly was going to die, and I LOVED him. He's so much fun! And then with what happened to Bill! I loved Bill so much. I know he's just a background character really but I always had this special little place in my heart for him.
If anything ever happened to Fred and George, I'd probably burn the books.

I wasnt affected by Cedric's death simply because i was so relieved it wasnt anyone else who had to take the bullet from Voldy's return. Sirius' death was horrible, i was just like Harry in that moment wanting to jump through the curtain. I remember there was a line that said harry was mad at someone because they were stopping him from opening the curtain and revealing a grinning Sirius and i felt exactly the same. I was like "let him open the frickin curtian you clown" They way Dumbledore's death was done, with Harry all frozen under the cloak and Malfoy and Snape and the "please" was all horrible. Hagrids reaction was the worst I will be sad when Voldy dies (im sure he must) because that will signify the end of the series.
