Split from: Whats+on+your+TV%3FPulp Fiction is on right now. And I'm proud to say, I'm a Beatles person! "My theory is that when it comes to important subjects, there's only two ways a person can answer. For instance, there's two kinds of people in this world, Elvis people and Beatles people. Now Beatles people can like Elvis. And Elvis people can like the Beatles. But nobody likes them both equally. Somewhere you have to make a choice. And that choice tells me who you are." - Mia, Pulp Fiction

Oooh great thread idea! So obviously I'm a Beatles person. The best band there ever was. Elvis is good, but not Beatles good.

Beatles! Beeaaaatles!!!
Do you think what your parents listened to influences your choice? Mine always loved the Beatles, so I grew up listening to them.

My parents never listened to Elvis but they didn't listen to the Beatles that much. I guess it must have had some influence. But I don't think it was a big one.

Elvis person. I do really love the Beatles and adore some of their songs, but Elvis was THE KING And smokin back in the day. In an incredibly cheesy way of course.

My parents like Elvis but i am a huge Beatles fan. Love their songs. Most of them just make you sing along.

I agree that Elvis is cool, but I much prefer the Beatles myself. My mum's a bit of a Beatles fan, and I think my dad likes them too. That said, I'm not sure how much they influenced me, though - we don't have many similar tastes.

I'm really not much of an Elvis fan at all. Definitely a Beatles person. My dad has all their records--still on vinyl--and one or two of the newer compilation type CDs. I grew up listening to them and love them.

I don't like Elvis either, but I like the Beatles. I didn't grow up listening to either, and I'm not sure if my parents like them or not

One thing I'd have to add is that I think the Beatles have aged better. Their music sounds far more timeless than Elvis's.

From the little I have heard of the two of them, I prefer Elvis over the Beatles. I prefer his sound more. His songs are much catchier than The Bealtes' in my opinion.

So what do people think about all the Elvis impersonators out there? He seems to have more than anyone, I find it kinda funny hehe

I think all the impersonators go to show what an impact he had on society. That said though, you never seem to see them advertised. I wonder if it's because people see them as a cliche, or that the Elvis impersonators simply aren't as popular as, say, the ABBA ones?

Any theories?

I am neither a Beatles person or an Elvis person. They were all good singers but I don't like most of Elvis's work and I don't understand why he was ever so popular. I do like a lot of Beatles songs but again I don't think they are the greatest.
