(I didn't think we had a thread on this - I did a search and everything. If I've been completely stupid and overlooked it, sorry!)
So, who likes musicals? What ones have you seen? What ones do you want to see?
I've seen Cats, The Lion King (London), Billy Elliot (London), Alegría (Cirque du Soleil) and quite a few ballets. I'd love to see Wicked, Rent and Hairspray.
As for movies...I really liked Rent and Hairspray.

I saw Rent three times. Loved it - easily my favourite. Phantom was great. La Boheme as well. Miss Saigon makes me cry just thinking about it  And i've gotten upset during every ballet i've ever seen  I've seen a fair few others but be stuffed if i can remember them. I would have to be chained in a chair to ever watch Cats - can't believe people pay for that. I'm off to War of the Worlds this week. Should be interesting. |

I saw Cats when I was quite young. It was okay, but yeah...I don't think I'll be seeing it again any time soon. I was going to see Miss Saigon, actually. I'll be going to Phantom of the Opera soon though, with my dad. We have a close friend who works for the big performing complex in Brisbane and we often get (good free tickets). It's good stuff.

My parents are going to see Phantom next week in London. I'm very jealous Miss Saigon i recommend to everyone. Just brilliant. Really packs a punch too. |

I loved seeing Cabaret in Sydney and I have seen a couple of Bell Shakespeare productions. I used to go to a lot of theatre when I was in college as part of my coursework (I was studying both drama and theatre production so it was a requirement)

Saw War of the Worlds last night. It was awesome  Shannon Noll was so good. He can actually act! He got the biggest scream and cheer at the end by far. Rachael Beck and Michael Falzon were great too - and the original British cast. |

I've only seen one on stage, and that was
Mama Mia!" I loved it!!!!!!!! I've seen quite a few on movie, though. Chicago, Sound of Music, Music Man, the King and I, South Pacific, Oklahoma, Man of La Mancha, My Fair Lady, and probably others that I can't think of right now.
Oh, and I saw a really pretty good high school production of My Fair Lady.
I've been in the orchestra of quite a few community produced shows, too...1940s Radio Hour, Mame, Meet Me in St. Louis, Godspell, and Anything Goes.

I think the movie looks good I saw The Chaser’s Age Of Terror Variety Hour last night - it was so good. Absolutely hilarious. We had great seats too. |

I saw it on the Thursday of that week. It was enjoyable for the most part, even if there wasn't much music in it. And I thought it was pretty uneven - some parts were really funny, while others fell flat. |
