You really do.
Fair enough that they don't know what sheep look like, but surely they'd have to know that it's not a dog!

That was funny. It reminds me of a blonde joke. But anyway, I feel bad for all the people when they realized they have been scammed, but like Allan said, they should know a sheep isn't a dog!

Oh that sucks. What would the groomers have said to those poor people? "I'm sorry, your dog has hooves."

You really do. Fair enough that they don't know what sheep look like, but surely they'd have to know that it's not a dog! My brother's girlfriend (who is Japanese) said there are lots of children's books which have sheep in them. These people are siiiiiillllly!

Wow, that's interesting. I thought it was odd that they didn't know what a sheep looked like (I mean, I know what most animals we don't have in Australia look like). I guess there are a lot of gullible people in the world!

That makes sense. What I don't understand is how so much of the media could have picked it up. The articles mention some British tabloids, which shouldn't be surprising, but just about every newspaper here in Aus picked up on it. What does that say about our media? That's pretty funny in it's own right!

I read about it in the news and laughed. Shows how the media will print anything without finding out if its actually true

I'm just wondering how many retractions will actually get printed.

Yeah, one of the commentors on the site you linked, Liz, said the BBC had even mentioned it.
It's certainly a sad reflection on our news media.

It really is. News outlets all over the world were shamed for jumping all over it.
And it's sad how easily everyone believed it, because it was published by "reputable" sources.

ROFL.
I agree. The media are stupid. "Let's run crap stories like this instead of anything remotely important!"
