What's Crackdown? Yeah, I will get around to Knights of the Old Republic...eventually .

It's a completely different style of game. Think Grand Theft Auto, except it doesn't have hookers, and you're (apparently) a good guy whoo just so happens to be a super soldier.

Haha, sounds interesting. When you say super soldier, do you mean super abilitilies too .

Just speed and strength, basically. You start out about as strong as a normal person, but it gradually increases. I'm currently working on becoming strong enough to throw cars (I can kick them around, but can't yet lift them).

Wow, that sounds pretty cool lol. I'm guessing it's rated M

It's rated MA. There's a bit of violence (like kicking people in front of trucks), and language (people swearing if you scare them by running into a crowd and shooting at people).

It sounds like fun, but I probably wouldn't play. Perhaps I could get my brother interested, though

My brother just bought crackdown for his 360, pretty clever gameplay depending how you kill people (fists, guns , kicking etc;) is what decides how you power up, he is building his jumping/strength so hes beating guys to death , pretty awesome how high he can jump!

I dont like freaky games like that where you go around battering random people to death. If i am going to kill people then i prefer Medal of Honour, makes me feel all patriotic, even though you have to fight for the Americans

lol well I feel more patriotic killing gangsters on games rather than killing people giving there lives for there country

I like to kill the drug and weapons dealers in Crackdown, too.
My favourite bit of mass destruction (so far) has been throwing a couple of sticky grenades to a car, and kicking it off a bridge towards 10-15 people below (I'm not yet strong enough to lift cars).
But then the police came after me, because I didn't notice that there were a ton of innocent civilians down there too, who also got taken out.

I think games killing monsters is fine but I'm kinda disturbed by the war ones

What if you're killing people, but in a heightened (ie non-realistic) reality?

Yes. Its still mimicing killing people and to me, thats disturbing to have as a game.

My friend has a game called "Bully". You are a kid in a private school and you can go around starting fights with anyone on the streets, fire spudguns in their faces and all kinds of crap. people seem to love it yet i hate it.

Fair enough. I just see it as a simple gaming thing, and not at all related to reality, or being power fantasies of screwed up kids.
That said, I can't stomach hunting games where you kill innocent animals.
EDIT - Glenn, I've heard of that. Is the game designed to be "funny" - ie, styled comedically, or is it realistic?

Ohh yeah, I keep seeing ads for that on TV. It looks pretty stupid. Guitar Hero is coming on the Wii! Not until like 2008 though.

I cannot wait for the new Harry Potter game to come out on the Wii. You can actually cast spells by moving the Wiimote! So awesome.
