I'm surprised there isn't a thread on the upcoming Harry Potter movie. Anyway, Warner Bros has announced that the movie is delayed until July next year. From the press release: You can read the full article here.

Yeah I posted about this in the gossip thread. I'm kinda pissed, but if they need the time to make it better, then that's fine with me! (Yes, they need my approval ). Moving the time means that Twilight is now going to be released in the original HP date.

My understanding is is that it has nothing to do with the film itself. Its pretty much done. Its about money. They think an American summer release date will be better financially. Which i think is a bit stupid. The audience for Harry is already there - i don't think when its released matters to box office receipts

Yeah I think you're right Loz. WB wants Half-Blood Prince to be next year's Batman!

Maybe it comes down to during the time, more people are willing to see movies multiple times? Though, I'm not sure if it's solely about money, or about keeping up appearances. With the Writers Strike, next year is going to be quite light, and studios are left without a "Summer tentpole" release. I think a lot of it is WB coming out and saying "Hey, look at this - we have a big movie this Summer!".

Saw it tonight. It was awesome, and in my opinion the best one yet. Have to go read the 7th book now! So who found Lavender really really annoying? She wasn't in the book was she? Loved the Ron/Hermoine stuff. And I would have bawled at the ending had I not read the book.

Definitely the best one yet. I thought it was brilliant The Ron/Hermione stuff was great. They hacked into Harry/Ginny but i was happy enough with it. I have to say Dan, Emma and Rupert have really stepped it up another notch, they were great. The end got me. The music and the wands in the air. VERY well done

I absolutely LOVED IT. Beck - Yes, Lavender is in the book. It's pretty much the same as it was in the movie - they called each other Lav-Lav and Won Won.

Beck meant was she as annoying in the book as she was in the movie. Having just read the book on the past weekend i can't tell you a thing about Lavender. She was just there and then with Ron. We never found out anything about her. She was hideous in the movie, i desperately wanted to smack her in the head

Ah yeah, I have read the books and I know she was in them I didn't find her painfully annoying in the book, or I don't remember finding her that annoying. She was horrid in the movie!

LOL at my lack of reading comprehension! I thought she was okay in the movie. I also thought Michael Gambon improved a lot.

Yeah, but so was Lavender in the books! Loved the bit with Felix Felicis. Even though Harry obviously shouldn't have drunk the entire bottle - though of course Ginny and co didn't need it in the end battle! . DanRad did a great job.

My favorite part was definitely the Felix Felicis part. Slughorn: "Poof" Hagrid: "Poof" then Harry: "Poof". Cracked me up. The acting really did improve in this one, and though some things changed from the book, I still really enjoyed this movie. Definitely the best one yet. I loved Luna Lovegood! She is still my favorite. I thought Lavender was annoyingly funny. What did Slughorn keep calling Ron? I couldn't catch it.

So shock...or perhaps not I saw this late last night and thought it was pretty good. Although it needed more magic. I love the actors I thought they all did great. Luna is adorable (she reminds me of you Bre) but then again, Ron reminds me of my cat . I wasn't as excited as I was watching the last one, I thought it would be more magnificent (but then again, Haven't read the books maybe that is coming later) . I like Hermione so I got all teary with the Hermione/Ron scenes. I found this movie to be a little to slow (I need to watch it again because I think I missed some parts) but I did love finding out who the half blood prince was and the ending! Edit to add: I just read another thread about the battle of Hogwarts, so I am guessing the last book & final 2 movies will be action packed? is that correct? because it will definitely change my mind on the movie.

You're not the only one who said I remind them of Luna. I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not. But I do love her. Have you not read the books, Nico?! If not, what the hell? But yeah the last two will definitely be action packed.

I'm definatly not a Harry Potter fan and found this movie a little boring. Not enough happend for a 3hr film........ [waiting for the mud to come flying]
Maybe I should actually get round to reading the books
