What I like about the iPod nano is the games and that it has in-built speakers - and other stuff like the cover flow. I don't know why but I love the cover flow. Oh! I want to put tv episodes on the iPod but I can't seem to do that without buying the eps from iTunes. I'm able to conver the file and put them in iTunes but I can't seem to sync the eps to my iPod. Anyone know how to solve this?

Do you use the Manual sync? Let me tell you Itunes is a pile of crap and the fact that you can sync to an ipod without it is something only apple would do!. Anyway, I synced homemade movies to mine using the manual sync, it was just a case of dragging them onto Itunes then selecting 'Synchronize' I will try upload more so I can get more detailed steps!.

It's one of the reasons why I [used] to dislike iPod - not able to put in music without iTunes. And you can't use iTunes to sync to your own iPod when another iPod is already synced to it. Yup, that's what I did. My movies and stuff are able to go into iTunes but it does not show up on my iPod after clicking on 'sync'. :-\

It was easy as pie to get videos onto the Creative Ire, I wonder to myself why did I change to an Ipod, I think for the cool album art . Mines always sync's after clicking the button, that is strange still haven't had a chance to try upload a new video yet you had any luck?

Yeah, Creative was sooo easy! Grrrr....stupid iPod. I'll try again with my uncle's iPod (he has the classic one) and if it works on his, then something's wrong with mine. If it doesn't, it must be the video itself. I tried looking online for help and they all say the same thing as you did, Nico. ANd it doesn't work!

I wish they would have allowed the Ipod to be easier to access, just drag folders/files over. I liked the simplicity!.

I'm a gumby and i find it incredibly easy. Download it, synch it. How much easier do you want it to be!?!? Drew Barrymore really wanted Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer" in a flashback scene on Charlie's Angels II. However, the rights to the song were too expensive, so Barrymore called Jon Bon Jovi told him how much she loved the song and how important it was to her that it be in the scene, and Bon Jovi found a loophole to enable them to use the song for nix.

With Creative, you just copy and paste the song into the player like a flashdrive. You don't have to download iTunes or any silly programs in order to put the songs in.

Yes i had to download it but that was hardly drastic. And i buy songs off there too. From there you drag the song from there to your iPod and it sync's. Seems much the muchness to me And i like everything being right there in one place all neat and tidy and easy to find. Plus with covers and everything looking proper.

I don't care for the whole iTunes/iPod thing either. My friend gave me her old iPod nano and had a lot of songs on it ... but I can't even save them to my computer. If it was any other mp3 player, I'd be able to listen to them on my laptop without my iPod connected.

Loz you got lucky then. From day one my ipod wouldn't even sync, it tried but wouldn't wait long enough to put the songs on the device and to get it to manual sync was a pain in the arse.
I have never had a problem with album covers on any of my MP3's I don't find Itunes do it particularly well either.

The album cover thingy annoys me sometimes. iTunes doesn't do a good job in finding all of them. I have to hunt them down myself.

What colour Ipod do you have Irene? I wanted the red but thought it might be a bit rough on the ol eye balls, so I got the blue instead and it was cheap to!.

Same. I've had two and Bernie has one and neither of us have had any issues with it. You can only sync your ipod with 5 machines, but you can share libraries.

I wanted either the red or orange or the yellow ( ) but they only had the black, silver, white, blue and purple. I paid close to $300 for it. Not cheap I thought but I needed to invest in a new one so I wasn't bothered about the price.

Oh putting music on isn't/wasn't the problem for me. I was trying to access the Ipod to put a video in it, my ipod was trying to automatically sync to itunes (successfully) , it then said 'safe to disconnect' because there was no music on it (itunes) to sync. I was trying to put videos onto it not music have any of you actually tried to put videos onto the Ipod? that is a hell of a battle, for me it doesn't sync automatically so I had to change to manual sync but to do that I needed the damn thing to stop saying 'safe to disconnect' so I had to put a HUGE music album onto it so I could access it lol. Oh I meant to ask to when I put compilation albums (like my One tree hill and buffy) onto the albums it splits all of the songs up into artists, how do I stop that? because it is pain in the arse . Your Ipod has built in speakers Irene, I wonder if mine does. I didn't really check the features out, it drew me in. One thing I will say good with the Ipod is that is gets freaking loud, I can have the earphones in and hear it across the room !.

I can't put videos on either. I hate when that happens! And, yes, I want to know how to get around that too. It also happens when one song on a album has another singer on it. It isn't included in the album and becomes separated 'cause iTunes thinks it's a song by someone else! Yeah. I didn't know about it when I accidently pressed play without my earphones.

Irene I just checked the Videos I had on my Ipod and they are MPEG-4 , what format are yours in? It took me about a day to put videos onto my Ipod, am just about to try add some new ones and take off the old ones so I will let you know if it works and if I have the patience to get it to work . I have about 10 albums on my ipod with one song in each, considering I like things to be neat and tidy it is really annoying, I am sure Itunes must have a place to turn that feature off without having to edit all of the details in the songs. EDIT: Managed to fix my compilation albums by going into the music list, highlighting all songs in the albums, Right click, making sure the album had a name and then on Sorting tab there is a box to group as a compilation, change it to yes and make sure it is ticked. www.flickr.com/photos/nicolaandsteven/4493974735/sizes/o/
