I just finished rewatching season 3 and I noticed something in Graduation Part 1 and 2. Maybe it's something I've noticed before but never really thought much of it till now.
Did anyone else find it odd that both Buffy and Angel were oh-so ready to kill Faith in order to get Angel the cure?
Even the rest of the gang didn't put up a fuss when Buffy decides to kill Faith for Angel.
So I'm just wondering, did Faith deserved to die? Not too long ago, Buffy was sure there's still some good in Faith even though she was on the side of evil and was killing people/good demons - so what changed?

I think it was more about does Faith deserve to die more than Angel? Until this moment, when Faith has poisoned Angel and it is the only cure, no one has ever suggested killing Faith. Buffy, Xander and Angel in particular all want to help Faith. But Faith had already by then killed people and they all knew she was going to play a big part in the Mayors grand plan.
Buffy doesn't want Angel to die, and she knows she is needed. Faith is really the only option. By having Angel drain her we see that she would prefer Angel to live than anything else. She was willing to give up her own life then.
So did Faith deserve to die? I don't believe in the death penalty really so no. And she does eventually find redemption, it was always in her. But she deserved to die more than Angel did, and that is what it comes down to imo.

I agree with Becks. I also don't think that Buffy or Angel see killing Faith as the first and best option. However, they both know she won't go quietly and that they have to be prepared to kill her if there is a fight. Also, I think Buffy in paticular is hurt and angry with Faith.

I haven't seen it in awhile but I thought her intention was to bring Faith to Angel and let him have some of her blood, not to kill her. She knew it was a possibility, but she knew that a fight with Faith was also inevitable so why not make it then when it could help Angel? If her intention was to kill her then it goes against Buffy's character. In Season 6 she didn't want Warren killed despite what he had done because he was human. Faith may have been a slayer, but she was still human. And no I don't think Faith deserved to die.

From the quote above, Angel needed to drain Faith's blood for the cure to work so that would surely kill Faith. I don't think drinking some of her blood would have worked though. :-\

That wouldn't necessarily kill her though, it didn't kill Buffy. But I do think that was their intention, Buffy didn't care if Faith died. I agree it was out of character for Buffy, but I do think Faith deserved death more than Angel did at that point. Especially since they were going to have to take Faith out somehow anyway or she'd be a huge help to the Mayor.
