State your favorite Geek/nerd actor being heralded in for this era where the new cool is to be uncool. I am not talking about the actors that play awkward characters as seconds but where the lead character (and his friends) or the hero is awkward, emotionally stilted and usually a virgin in the beginning, but ends up with the hot leading lady and a crap load of self confidence.
I have to say Michael Cera, just cause I find he is the original. Anyone after him quickly became lame to me, but he is just too cute for words, charming too. For females I can't really think of one, its very strange that it seems to be only cool to have male "nerd" heros. The only character I can think of is a secondary character on Veronica Mars called Mac.

I love Cera too! Ever since Superbad. But I loved him best in Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. ;D He's awesome in Arrested Development too. I can't think of anyone else at the moment.  |

He's in Arrested Development?? I have to watch that show! It's been on my Netflix instant queue for a while now and I need a new comedy so I'm definitely going to start watching that now that I know Michael Cera is in it. |

George Michael rocks Big Bang are the best nerds for me. Sheldon is a total legend. He makes me laugh every single week Bazinga  Happy to see the nerd that is Stanford get his man (and his dream wedding with swans ) in Sex and the City 2. Loved what Anthony said in his vows. Very sweet |

Oh I'm definitely going to have to cast my vote for Will Wheaton. He's like...professional Geek. His book is even titled Just a Geek. God I love him so much. I've had a crush on him at three separate points in my life, that's how much I love him.
