Simple. Do you skip books should they have boring cover, or trashy covers. To certain covers appeal to you? I often run out of series to read and go walk around a book store hoping something will catch my eye. Anything that glints or shimmers usually does. Books that have titles longer then three words I usually skip. Books that have plain script or solid, bland colors get skipped. My fave covers are the ones with half shots up close of someones face/back, body in general. Elegant script always catches my eye. Dark, Deeper jewel tones or... to be completely honest really hot guys on the cover.

Yup if a cover catches my eye I am likely to pick it up and read the blurb. Of course if it sounds lame I will put it right back I also don't like books with extremely long titles. Makes me think the book will be a bit long winded too.

Oh yeah, definitely look at covers first before anything else. But I tend to avoid covers that have too much going on. I prefer bland covers that go straight to the point. Length of titles doesn't bother me much just the title itself. And the fonts of the words in the book. It's weird but if the book doesn't have nice fonts, I put them away. I have to think really hard on getting a certain book if the synopsis is awesomely good but the fonts suck.

I've recently come up with a new rule for judging books based on the covers. I don't like to buy anything where the author's name is bigger than the title of the book. I think that's just egotistical and implies that just because something is written by so and so, you should read it, regardless of whether or not it's any good.

I don't really know what sort of covers I go for but I also judge on covers but if I can't find anything, I'll try to look at anything. I am, however, no fan of books that are made purely out of poems.
