Are the books internationally known? That is a shame, because it really is a great movie. Can you play any region on your DVD player Bre? If so I will send you a copy when it is on DVD Aus/NZ DVDs are region free so I'm pretty sure Bre can play them.

That's what the dude at my DVD shop told me. I wanted to get a DVD from NZ to play in S'pore and he said all region 4 DVDs can be played everywhere as it's considered region free. It worked in S'pore so I have no idea.

He's full of shit You have bugger all chance of playing a lot of regions elsewhere unless your DVD player is unlocked or was made to be region free. I've experienced it myself and so have a lot of mates who have moved to the US and the UK.

You may have a region free DVD player and I could be wrong but as far as I am aware, no they aren't. And I can't find any information to back up them being considered region free.
edit - Irene he probably meant you can make your dvd player region free so they play.

Yeah, I tried finding info online but couldn't find anything either so I have no idea.
The DVD player was my friend's back in S'pore so I'm not sure if it's region free.

Any DVD player can be made region free. Sounds like that is what the DVD guy meant, or he was just being an idiot.

Yah Aus/NZ aren't region free, if that is what he thought he's a bit daft especially working with DVDs. My friend Prue can't play any of her American DVDs on our players and same vice versa. Anyways lets get this thread back on topic

Just got back. Was a bit worried but i shouldn't have been, they did an excellent job! All the characters were well cast, especially my fave in TWTWB Homer, and they all did well. Nothing major was left out and it all flowed really well. It looks and sounds spectacular and has an awesome Aussie soundtrack. They handled the update to the new millennium swiftly and efficiently. The fact is that even with all the technology we have with the net and mobiles etc we'd still be screwed if shit goes down Really enjoyed it. Will be getting the DVD/BR and i hope enough people see it that they continue on with the series!! Finally saw it today! I really enjoyed it. My brother not so much, but he is a really, really big fan of the books, so he said it could never really live up to expectations! I just see them as different. Great moment with Ellie/Corrie discussing books being better than movies I thought the casting was really good, especially Ellie and Homer. Agree with you about the petrol tanker moment - as it got to that bit, I kept thinking, "okay, now let's see what Loz meant... " They're making the next two movies back-to-back, so looking forward to that.

I agree about the castings, I don't think anyone was grossly miscast. Do we know why they are only making 3 movies and if the other books will be combined?

Money, I guess. Don't know if they will be combined...if they don't, it will just end with them going to NZ, which I suppose would be a somewhat satisfactory ending? . Now I want to re-read the books! Has anyone read the Ellie Chronicles? I read the first one.

I heard all the books would be covered. Starting with the next three books going in to one movie.

Ohhh okay. Yeah, that would work.
Who do we think was the best actor? I think Ellie did a great job.

Yeah Caitlin was alright. She needs to knock the posh out of her voice a bit more though. I thought Deniz Akdeniz (Homer) was great. Homer was how i always pictured him to be in every way.
