Australian/American/UK/etc Idol, X Factor, Australia/America/Britain/etc's Got Talent... these have all been popular shows. Which singers or bands have emerged from these that you class as successful and which ones do you like and hate?

From American Idol, I would class Kelly Clarkson as the most successful. Carrie Underwood got pretty popular too, and Chris Daughtry I guess. I don't watch the any other talent shows (I don't watch AI anymore either). I don't class the Susan Boyles and the like as successful. Just a moment of popularity.

Adam Lambert is huge. I always find it funny how it's mostly the runner-ups or others that do better than the winners of AI.
Can't say I hate any of them though. But I don't exactly like them enough to buy their CDs.

In Australia Guy Sebastion and Shannon Noll are the two that come to mind as the most successful. Like Bre, I only measure their success by more than a "one hit wonder" kind of status. Though I do think Susan Boyle is going to stay popular for awhile so I'd call her successful. Kelly Clarkson and Adam Lambert are the only two international ones that are really big here - that i am aware of. I put that there because I am not really up on all the latest music anymore since I don't like a lot of it  |

As well as Shannon (who I like) and Guy (who annoys the hell out of me) Jessica Mauboy is doing alright for herself. But i have to say she looked like a tranny at the NRL grandfinal and sounded horrid. I like Daughtry's stuff. And he loves Ed so clearly he has taste  Kelly Clarkson is alright, Adam Lambert's music is catchy. Don't really know any other international ones. I would class Boyle as successful too. She will keep selling plenty of records to the oldies in the future. |

I like Daughtry's voice but all his songs are exactly the same.  I like Adam Lambert. He was awesome on American Idol. What's cool about these talent shows is that if they win, you can see them live knowing they'll sound decent since they were competing live so it's based strictly on if they can sing (well assuming people vote on talent). |
