For November the movie to watch and discuss is The MatrixA computer hacker learns from mysterious rebels about the true nature of his reality and his role in the war against the controllers of it. It has been a long time since I have seen this, should be a lot to discuss with it though!

I've only seen bits of it on TV and I haven't seen it all the way through so it will be a first for me watching this movie. I am not a fan of Keanu Reeves, so we'll see how it goes.

Aww what is wrong with Keanu? I like him but he isn't a great actor imo, but he is very good in this series.

He's a terrible actor and he doesn't seem very bright. When I see him during interviews it's extremely entertaining because he looks like a deer caught in the headlights most of the time.

He suits the role in this movie though And the story is great. If anything at least watch it for Hugo Weaving who is superb.

Keanu has been one of my favorites since I was 14 and saw Speed for the first of 4000 times. I knew him from a lot of things but that is when me and my mate Caroline developed an obsession. I think he is actually an excellent actor. Look at the difference between Ted in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Jack in Speed or yes, Neo in The Matrix. To pull off each of those characters as well as he does shows talent.

I laughed throughout Speed because it was such a bad movie.

I loved Speed, but I think Keanu isn't a good actor. I don't think he has been good in anything other than the Matrix series, and that is because he suited the role so well.

Yeah, I don't think Reeves is a good actor either. He annoys me. I liked this movie, which is surprising as when I first heard about it, I thought I would hate it. Doesn't seem like my kind of movie. I was definitely wrong. However, I think it's mostly the action and special effects that made this entertaining to watch. If it weren't for them, I doubt I would have enjoyed it that much.

I started watching this last night and got about an hour into it (that's all I had time for) and I really like it. I'm going to finish it tonight hopefully. There's some crazy philosophical shit that's really interesting. I also appreciate that Keanu has limited lines.

Well I finished the movie. I really enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I even liked Keanu! The one who annoyed me the most was Hugo Weaving because he pronounced his "r's" very strangely. "Misterrr Anderrrson" I think the writing was pretty great too except until the last 20 minutes or so. It was still entertaining and fun, but the very last shot of him flying was completely ridiculous. Lost points for me.

Why was it ridiculous?

It was cheesy as hell.

Yeah never saw it that way myself. I thought it simply showed how in control he was of "The Matrix". That anything is possible now

I get that. But I think just by watching the movie we understand that he is in control. They could have done something else though to show that if they thought it was necessary.
Have you seen the sequels? Are they worth watching?

Not the biggest fan of the sequels myself. In fact, i've only seen the third one once at the cinema and never again.

I don't mind them but they aren't as good as the first. I finally managed to watch this last night but I didn't take a lot in, wasn't feeling great. The flying part didn't bother me and Hugo Weaving is fabulous. His voice is supposed to be annoying So who would have taken the blue pill?

Which is the blue? I'd take the one and follow Morpheus. My life is boring so I would have gone with.
