We call them totties in Scotland.
I love mash potatoes and recently we have been switching up the potatoes we use, I have found a new love for Yukon gold, mash 'em up add some milk, wee bit of butter and they are mouth watery good!. It's great since I can't stomach the powdered stuff and so easy & tasty.
Do you make your own? what do you add?

I like mashed potatoes but we never seem to get them right when we make them at home.

Nico, when I come visit, will you make me mashed taters? I love potatoes. They're my all-time favorite food. Even the instant stuff.

Ofcourse! They are the one thing I can make You just have to make sure you boil them long enough, then it is pretty much just butter & milk and any other seasonings.

I quite like potatoes, especially as chips! I prefer sweet potato (kumara). I bought some new potatoes from Sainsbury's this morning, I'm going to boil them and have them with a bit of butter (and pork chops and vegies).

I love potatoes and I'll eat them any way they are cooked. As long as they aren't instant - those aren't proper potato!!!

See above Potatoes are great. The instant stuff is evil. Have had one mouthful once to try it and never again!!

I don't think I have ever had instant potatoes. I'm a pretty lazy cook, but I wouldn't use instant potatoes! Yuck.

We're having fried mashed potatoes on toast for lunch. Yummm. Kids will likely smother theirs in ketchup though
