May's movie is: AmélieAmélie is a 2001 romantic comedy. The film is a whimsical depiction of contemporary Parisian life, set in Montmartre. It tells the story of a shy waitress, played by Audrey Tautou, who decides to change the lives of those around her for the better, while struggling with her own isolation. I've never seen it, so I'm really looking forward to watching and discussing! Hope you can all join in!First question: If you haven't seen the movie before, what are your first impressions from the trailer/summary?I think the movie looks sweet and funny. It does seem pretty whimsical. I am looking forward to seeing Paris!

Excellent, looks like this could be a good choice! Shall we try to get started on Monday, or is that not enough time?

I haven't re-watched it yet, but I wrote this last year when I was making a top 40 films of the decade list. This was number seven. I wrote:
"Amelie is such a free spirited movie and character that nobody can resist. The cinematographic elements (especially the vivid colors) and feel good story make Amelie one of the best love stories of the decade. Everything about Amelie’s emotions is contagious and you can’t help but love her and the film!"
But I'll buy it and re-watch it to see if my opinion has changed at all.
