I was sure there was a thread on this but I can't find it. ANYWAY! I recently got my friend to watch Buffy. She was going on and on about how Vampire Diaries is great but I told her that it will never beat Buffy. So now she's a big fan and another friend of ours want to watch it as well. I wasn't very sure whether I should let them watch season 1 in the fear they would get turned off by it so I just told them to watch the first season for the bad hair and clothes. The real fun begins with Season 2. So if you were going to introduce Buffy to your friends, would you let them watch from the beginning? Or with certain episodes? How about with Angel and Firefly? If you could only have your friends watch ONE episode of Buffy to introduce them to the 'verse, which will you pick?

Id start from the beginning but skip most of Season 1. Introducing mid season means they don't know any characters and so many of the plots in this are character-driven.

Would pick Becoming. Then they would want to go watch the rest to see what happen and how it got to that ;D With the previously on bit dont think it too important to have seen all if you want to let people get a good idea what show about. Start was bad.

Skip season one start from Season 2. It has alot of strong episodes and isn't to far into the storyline that it would get confusing. Ofcourse I would encourage them to go back to season 1 but I honestly don't think there is much in that season to miss.

The only thing important in season 1 would probably be the first two eps (to introduce the characters) and the Angel ep. The last episode would be important too since season 2 starts from the aftermath of that.
Am now getting my friends to watch Firefly/Serenity. I wasn't keen on it at first but after how much they enjoyed Dr. Horrible, I knew they had to watch Firefly. It was then when I realised how big fans of Nathan Fillion they were.

I didn't like the way Angel was introduced he always came across to me as a creep . Everybody I have introduced Firefly to have loved it, even people that don't watch Scifi shows.

Yeah, that was my biggest worry. That people won't like it because it's a sci-fi show. I myself was iffy about watching Firefly as it was a sci-fi show. Only watched it because it's a Joss show.
