How often do you buy your lunch when at work or school? Do you take in lunch instead? How much does this cost you a week and what sorts of things do you buy? Did you have lunch orders at school often?

I try to avoid buying lunch as I'm a poor poor student haha. If I was to buy lunch it'd probably cost about £3 - £4 and it would be some meal deal consisting of some sandwiches (either chicken or BLT), a bottle of coke and a packet of crisps or a mars bar. If I'm feeling like I deserve something a bit more "fun" then it'll be McDonalds or Burger King or something along those lines.
I much prefer eating before I go out to university though and it means I can have basically anything at no real cost as my parents buy food for the house. Normally I have tuna or chicken or pasta and I always make sure I have some fruit. (:

I usually took my meals in. I never ate much at lunchtimes and it was nice to have it on hand.

I always buy lunch when I was in school back in S'pore as it's cheap. They have school prices - a bowl of noodles for $1.50, etc.
But in NZ, it's soooo expensive. So I bring in a sandwich. But it really depends how many times a week I eat lunch outside. If it's once or twice, I don't mind buying something from the cafeteria. Not if it's everyday. This year, I've been bringing breakfast to school as I have early classes and eating at home doesn't work as I get hungry quite quickly and have to buy something. Plus, it saves me time.

When I was at uni I would buy lunch once at week. We'd eat at one of the cafes at uni, and it would usually be under $10. In London I buy Pret about 1-2 times a week, depending on what I'm doing. It's usually around £3-4. Most of the time I take my lunch to work though.

I don't think I have ever taken a packed lunch to work. I prefer to buy my lunch, I don't know what I will feel like for lunch in the morning.

What about at school Shaun?
I couldn't afford to buy lunch every day, too expensive. Rarely got to at school either.

In school for the most part, at least until college where it was maybe a bit more even, I bought lunch, because in grade school and high school it was cheap (about $2). Mostly for work, though, I bring my own lunch.

I always took my own lunch in high school. When I was working, I did both, sometimes I'd take leftovers (more often in winter), sometimes I'd buy lunch and sit at Franklin Square or the Parliament Lawns during summer. It gets expensive though.
