I was reading an article this morning that mentioned a lot of restaurants now refuse to let people take their food home in a doggy bag and others make customers sign a bit of paper saying they won't sue them. Was a bit WTF but on continued reading it was about people eating food that wasn't properly reheated and getting food poisoning.
Do you ask for a doggy bag at restaurants? It it a taboo thing to do nowadays? If you got food poisoning from reheated food from a restaurant would you blame the restaurant or yourself?

I do doggy bags a lot 'cause NZ meals are huge and I have an Asian stomach. I would hate it if restaurants don't do them. It would be such a waste.
Definitely won't sue the restaurant if I get food poisoning from the leftovers. They didn't reheat my food. I did. I find it dumb that people would do that.

Um I'm married to Josh, we never have leftovers in a restaurant lol!
My work will do them but we don't offer.

I have never asked for one and I have never been offered one. But I don't recall many times where I haven't eaten the meal I have ordered. If I am not that hungry I'll order something smaller

I always get them. The portions sizes here are huge and no way could I ever eat the whole meal all at once. I've never gotten food poisoning, or heard of anyone getting it, from re-heating leftovers from a restaurant. Speaking of ... I'm going to re-heat some three cheese chicken penne leftovers.

I find the meals over here whilst eating at restaurants are huge, I can't eat all of the food but I don't take it home, I don't even eat leftovers I find that they taste rubbery second time around. Steven always finishes his meal & sometimes mine to, I swear I don't know how he stays so lean with the amount of food he eats.

Most places here have smaller sized meals as well as larger ones so I don't often find there is too much on my plate at a restaurant. I know how much I can eat and order accordingly. The only thing I tend to ask for a takeaway container for is pizza at Italian restaurants.

I wish it was like that here. They overload your plate regardless of the meal unless you buy an entree as your main but at some places you still get an overflowing plate. In the UK you got practically nothing I always left hungry!

Yeah, my uncle tends to finish my meal too but if he can't (which is very rare), we'll take it home if we can be bothered. I hate wasting food so I try to get it packed if there is a lot to save.
