What food do you guys cook or eat for Christmas?
My family have always done cold meats and salads and lots of desserts. Sometimes prawns and champagne too.

Indian food. We also have a turkey, which is very popular in our house during Christmas. My mum makes these oatmeal prawns which are awesome and everyone loves them so that makes an appearance every year.

Well we have Egg Nog and champs drinks wise. Though the beer usually comes out later in the arvo, especially if there is a game of cricket happening.... Food wise we have a cooked breakfast usually. And then lunch. Which is fresh seafood first (lobster, prawns, ocean snot ) then cold turkey/chicken, cold baked leg ham with many different salads. Dessert changes depending on who is making it. Last year was this intense triffle made with whole poached peaches and fresh raspberries and raspberry liqueur. It was a tad rich! As you can imagine i don't think anyone has ever eaten dinner apart from picking at some leftovers

This year we're having ham, rolls, sweet potatoes, Jell-O salad, and some kind of dessert (I'm not sure what yet as my cousin's making it) and my aunt will bring a plate of cookies, I think. Oh, and a vegetable casserole of some kind, I think. That's usually what we have, except we usually have mashed potatoes instead of sweet. My gramma used to make ham balls, but it costs a lot to have the ham ground now, so she doesn't do that as often. I think this year it will be a more traditional ham.

For us, breakfast is a small thing. Either cereal or toast so we're not too full for lunch. My Mum makes roast pork and vegies, with boiled fruit cake and brandy cream for dessert (though I get to have mud cake ) My inlaws have cold roast turkey, cold ham and salads and sometimes prawns (depends on who is there for lunch). Since we don't have lunch at Mum's anymore I make roast lamb or chicken and vegies. Dinner is always just picking at leftovers, though no one is every really hungry.

We don't do a big breakfast. Family come to our place for lunch so breakfast is always something simple. Before my grandparents died, we had dinner at their place but now, we usually go out for dinner as Mum will be too tired after cooking lunch to cook anything else. Oatmeal prawns.... curious. What are they? Crumbed in oatmeal??? I think so. I don't know.

We have a LOT of alcohol on Christmas day. First is prawns and oyster (gross), then at about 2 we have "dinner". The usual stuff, but mainly salads. A big ham done on the BBQ, turkey, sometimes lamb (we are from NZ...).

I hardly drink any alcohol on Christmas Day and I never have, even before I had kids. I'll have a beer or two but that is pretty much it.

We don't have much alcohol either. Mostly because my family aren't drinkers. There will be wine (no beer) around for anyone who wants it but it doesn't get touched till maybe around dinner time.

We'll be around my grandmother so there will be lots of people drinking in order to cope with that

Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, a bun and cranberries ♥
Thanksgiving and Christmas meals are my favorite meals of the year.
