I can't even remember the third book so I can't say. I usually read it before the movie come out so ask me then. Haha. Still don't think it's a good idea to split the movie.

Checked out the commentary on the Catching Fire bluray today. Very interesting, especially their (Director Lawrence and Producer Jacobson) discussions on the changes they made. They think Jen walks on water of course Hard to watch PSH Far out he was a good actor.

And it's even harder watching PSH in Mockingjay and knowing that's the last film he ever made. He really is perfect in the role, and was so good in general. Such a waste I was always concerned about them splitting Mockingjay. I really wasn't sure there was enough to carry a whole film. I was wrong. It's perfectly paced and never dull, mixing the bigger set pieces and the quiet moments well. It hits and creates great character moments (finally Gale has something to do apart from stand around looking perplexed!) and it really doesn't just feel like pure set up. Everyone's performances are spot on. Jen is outstanding and the stand out of course. But Sam Claflin is worth a mention too. He does great things with Finnick. Part 2 should be a cracker! Looking forward to it already ;D

Wasn't a fan of it being split either so I expected it to be slow and without much action. But with that said, I was never bored with the movie. I loved how they fleshed out some things - unrest in the other districts, seeing how they rescued Peeta, etc - and the focus on the characters and their growth. Have to say though Hutcherson in the final moments was superb. Even though I knew what was coming, I still gasped out loud. Another great moment was the singing part. Had chills when we see the districts doing their thing. The worst thing about this movie was that I was left with me wanting the second one like NOW! I cannot wait for another year.
