I'm not going to go spoilerific today. Just doesn't feel right on day one But I will say.... I absolutely loved it from the crawl and that fabulous score to the very finish. I laughed (a lot), I cried, I grinned my face off, I wanted to clap in some parts. This is the Star Wars all us old schoolers loved. This is the Star Wars that had little four year old me sitting in Tumut in awe. Production wise its top notch. No more green screen bullshit thank the PTB. We are back to real sand, real forests, real sets. Awesome stuff. Any CGI there is blends seamlessly. Direction is flawless, i can't find a fault there. Story is familiar to say the least but that is in no way an insult. LK wrote my favourite, The Empire Strikes Back, so I knew it was in safe hands with him and JJ. Its exactly what you want and hints that there is so much to come in Eps VIII and IV. Oscar has been great for a long while and he is great as Poe. Daisy and John are fabulous. Girls will love Rey like I love Leia. Adam is exactly what you want him to be. His face is somehow perfectly suited for the role once that mask comes off. All the newbies have cracking chemistry together. Harrison, Carrie and the old crew are as good as it gets. My god I adore Chewbacca. R2-D2 is perfection, C3PO is C3PO and BB-8 is adorable. I want him. And hello Greg Grunberg! You picked a good best friend all those years ago Is it a perfect film? No. But its close enough to for those of us who were bought up in a galaxy far, far away. Go see it. You’ll love it.

Mostly I loved it. Didn't like 2 parts. 1 is obvious and I won't post it but I am still upset The other is the casting of Kylo Ren, I disagree with him being perfect for it. Every time he had the mask off I wanted it back on. Actor wasn't bad, but the nose was distracting and with who he was I didn't like the casting. Ella-Rose is in love with Rey, and I liked all 3 of the new leads. Chewy is definitely one of what the prequels were missing, I love him.

You are the only person I've heard of who doesn't think Driver is excellent. I like him a lot. A really good actor and does exactly what he needs to in the part. Gives it light and shade, shows the conflict, the struggle, is layered in a number of ways. It's what HC needed to be able to do (though he had shitty dialogue to deal with to be fair to him) in PII + III. I don't think looks matter in the scheme of things. Get a doppelgänger and then they can't act for shit? No thanks. JJ saw AD in Girls (poor JJ having to watch Girls) and got him to Bad Robot HQ ASAP. He saw exactly what he wanted Kylo wise and went for it. And I'm damn glad he convinced him to do it. It's really a shame Adam won't watch himself onscreen so won't get to see what he achieved. And as a SW fan will miss the movie!!

I don't have an issue with his acting, just didn't like him with his helmet off. I'm not the only one I know who thinks so either I'll get used to the casting in the same way I got used to Luke looking 20 years older in the second movie

Yeah, I'll get it on bluray too, but I had to get it today when it was released digitally. My love for that little droid just continues to grow

I loved this movie so much!
I also couldn't stand the casting for Kylo Ren. I feel like he couldn't pass as the son to Han Solo and such. Also, I've seen him in other things and it was too hard to think of him as the "enemy" he's too tall, and gawky, and nerdy looking in my opinion to play the role.
Not that nerds can't be the villain...he just didn't suit the role in my eyes.

OMG! My BB-8 had an update this morning that allows him to chat and "express all the feels as he watches the movie with you" ;D Yes, I'm a child

^^ is so much fun. He gets sad when people die, hides from Kylo, gets scared Favourite part of the extras so far?? At the first table read there is this moment where JJ looks around at everyone and the look on his face is just pure awe and "holy f**k look where I am!". It's awesome.

Ahh, it's so awesome that you have a BB8!!! My favorite part of the extras so far was them setting up the scene in the forest near the end with Kylo, Finn, and Rey. I cannot believe they created a whole set, I seriously thought that they were in a real forest. To think that was in a studio is so awe-inspiring. Can't imagine the intricacy that went into the painted trees in the distance Also I love that JJ had Mark Hamill read the script out loud when they were all sitting and doing a run through. :3

I didn't think it was a real forest but figured it would be mostly CGI. It was created by hand? Pretty impressive job.
Didn't disappoint. I enjoyed the movie alot, I made Emily a Hi-low shirt out of fabric that has the millenium falcon and reys speeder on it to showcase how much I loved the movie!
