Well I figure with all the Buffy fans on here, at least some of you must be Anne Rice fans! I am a big fan of her books, both the Vampire Chronicles and the Mayfair Witches trilogy (which Bernie read and liked too).
There are so many similarities between Anne Rice's books and Buffy, but also obviously massive differences. The Watchers Council is pretty much exactly like the Talamasca. Lestat and Spike have lots in common, and there are also similarities between Louis and Angel.
That aside, I just love her books. Not such a fan of the movie Queen of the Damned. It was alright, but they combined two massive books into a 2 hour movie! Is it any surprise some of the best bits were left out? The oringinal movie, Interview with a Vampire is brilliant though. Even if Antonio Banderas looks nothing like Armand is supposed to... I forgive that cause he looked so damn good!

I've never read one. But I've seen "Interview with a Vampire" (wasn't it based on her book?). Although I was going to read one of her books this past summer, just never got around to it. I should probably put it on my reading list as well. Do you recommend any specific title?

Interview With a Vampire is the first novel in the series. Personally my favourite is probably Tale of the Body Theif but they are better read in order, so start wit Interview, then The Vampire Lestat

In my english class, we have to write about any American author that wasn't covered in class, so I chose to do Anne Rice. Trouble is I haven't read any of her books.. so I'll probably start reading the Vamp Chronicles soon.

Do you have to write about all her books or one, or just her in general?

Just her in general. But I have to say what type of things influenced her writing, and why now she has decided to write Christian novels.

Yeah, if I still choose to do Anne Rice for my topic, I'll definitely mention it, but now I'm not sure.

Did you end up doing Anne Rice?

Nope. Ended up doing Dan Brown. For my paper, I'm proud to say I got an A! And then we had to turn that into a speech, and I just did that today. So I'm waiting for results..
But this summer I have lots of books on my list to read, and at least a couple of Anne Rice books will be on the list.

*steps up and announces proudly* I have read every single one of the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles.
My favorite, by far, was Blackwood Farm. I could go into why, but it would take days.
Anne Rice is actually the reason I started watching Buffy. See, I was in love with Lestat in an unhealthy way. VERY unhealthy. And then Memnock the Devil happened and well, I won't spoil it but the ending left me...lets say...catatonic. I was a mess for days and days. Then I finally wandered out and I turned on the TV, and there was Buffy. Now I'd seen the show before, and watched quite a few episodes, but I wasn't a FAN, you know? But this was fool for Love, and there was Spike, all covered in blood with the curly blonde hair and the stronge nose and the fire and GRRRR. He was my Lestat. He was there on screen and I attribute my love of Spike to that moment, right there. Thats when it started. All because he looked like my Brat Prince.

Ah good finally another Anne Rice fan. I'm not sure which is my favourite book... from the Vampire Chronicles I couldn't choose. I tend to like ones that have Armand in them cause I adore him. And I am a huge fan of the Witches trilogy I even got Bernie to read those and he loved them. Nasty Lasher I found it interesting when Anne Rice decided to merge her Mayfair Witches series directly with her Vampire Chronicles. And I am pissed as that she's chosen to write Christian novels. I hope this doesnt mean no more Lestat and co

Well and Interview with a Vampire I'm not a huge fan of Louis. I HATE how he and Claudia treated Lestat in the first book, and then all he does is brood about oh woe is me I have to live forver. (OMG HE'S ANGEL! )
