The Spice Girls have reformed! The tour starts in December and comes to Australia in January (Melbourne and Sydney). I'd like to go, I think it'd be fun. Tickets would be expensive though... Anyway! Who is a Spice Girls fan? Who will admit to being a fan? I had a t-shirt, posters and even a Geri doll. She wore her flag dress, it was awesome. Girl Power!

I'm not a fan, but I do find some of their songs annoyingly catchy. I'm not opposed to seeing them live, for a giggle. I'm guessing it would be an expensive giggle, though. They've only reformed for the tour, haven't they?

I'm a fan of their early work (before Geri left) and I even got their first album (though I lost it). It would be fun to see them again but I don't really think it would be as good as before. Some of them can't sing anymore! Allan - yeah, they only reformed for this tour.

Um... could they ever really sing, Irene?

Well, that's true. They were tolerable singers back then but now they are not!

I was a HUGE fan in the 90s but I don't think they need to get back together. They had their time. But hey if you really miss them it's gotta be exciting!

If they are still together by the Aussie tour dates then that is a miracle in its own right.

They aren't getting back together permanently, its for this one tour only. They're all good friends now, I don't see any reason they won't last together for one complete tour. They had some very catchy songs, but there's no way I would want to see them in concert. Waste of money imo, plus seriously - there will be a tv special or dvd if I really wanted to see it

I'd only go if a bunch of friends were, seeing as I'd have to go to Melbourne or Sydney.

Newspapers over here are already saying that arguments are occurring. Geri is mad that she isn't getting paid as much as someone else. But that is the papers. Maybe they are exaggerating.

Uhoh. I thought she got on really well with them all? She's going to be singing the songs they did without her and everything.

They do get on really well, half of them are god parents to each others kids. The media like to stir up bollocks. i can't imagine Geri getting paid less than the others, that would have all been agreed on before the tour was arranged anyways.

Yeah it's not like a band where there is one lead singer. They sing pretty much equally.

Yeah, they're a manufactured group who were each given their own "identity". That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Geri is getting paid less - if they are getting paid any kind of royalties for their own songs, then she wouldn't be entitled for the latter stuff she wasn't around for.
But as Beck said, they all signed the contracts. And they're all making shitloads. I wouldn't be listening to what the tabloids say.

I used to have their albums, and those collectable postcard/trading card things that were popular when I was in like year 6. I got over them in Year 7 there is no way I would even watch the tv special unless I was extremely drunk or with a group of friends laughing at them.

Aww, it's childhood memories though! I remember dressing up (I was Baby) for my birthday party when I was 9. Awesome.
