So at the recent Paley Television Festival, there was discussion about a Buffy movie among the cast. Joss said that "so many stars would have to allign" in order to pull off a Buffy movie. "But," he added, "I think it would be really cool." He also mentioned, "But if I had to shoot down everything that we’re doing in the comics because we’re doing a film, I wouldn’t lose a lot of sleep over it."
Now, would you, the fans, want a new Buffy movie to happen? If yes, where do you want the movie to take place? Right after the events of season 7 or from the season 8 comics?
For me, I wouldn't want a Buffy movie. I'm happy with the way the show ended and I don't think it's necessary for a movie to take place.

Honestly, it depends on the script and how well it was put together. I don't think it's necessary, but I would still see it, though.

Yes I would love to see a Buffy movie with the original Buffy cast.

I agree with Bre, I think I used to be against the idea, but I would love to see a movie I miss BTVS and all of the characters it would be like one final farewell, rather poetic in a way

I dont' think it really needs a movie (like Firefly did) but I would happily support one. Still I've been enjoying what's happening in the comics actually. I don't know where I'd want the movie to take place. Maybe immediatly after season 7.

I would want it to be right after season 7. I'm not overly happy about how some of the characters have changed in the comics, so I would like to see them right after they left Sunnydale.

Thats considered canon though so any movie would have to be after Season 8. I d like to see a movie but only with the original cast involved.

Or season nine, since that's official, too. Given how long it's been since the TV series, and how everyone's aged, it would have to be set a few years after season 7, anyway. But to capture a large audience, I also think it would have to be fairly stand alone, and not rely on knowledge of the TV show, and especially, the comic.

I hope it doesn't continue where the comic left off. I'm not following the comic and I would be very lost if the movie follows after the events of the comic.
If there was a movie, I rather it be a stand alone story where everyone and anyone can get into it. Like how Serenity was.

If they made a movie I think it would have to be after season 7, I dont consider season 8 comics as actually ever happening (I know that is probably worded poorly) .
Stand alone is a good idea, we have seen many stand alone episodes of many shows that work brilliantly on there own BTVS having a few obvious choices.

Ive not followed the comics, just as many Buffy fans havent. So to be fair to everyone who enjoyed the series it shouldn't reference things that have happened in the comics. Even if it takes place several years after Chosen.

Why shouldn't it? Just because its a different format it is still a continuation of the show. The choice is there to read it, they shouldn't just ignore all the work that went into it because some fans stopped showing interest.

On one hand, I see where people are coming from, and let's face it, a lot of fand probably don't even know the comic exists. But as far as Joss is concerned, Buffy season 7 is the official continuation, and I really don't see him deciding that it doesn't matter.
Should a movie ever happen, and should it be set after the comics, he would need to reintroduce the concept and setting to people who haven't seen the show, and people who just haven't read the comic.
Likewise, I'm sure there are comic fans out there reading season 8 who haven't seen the show. Should this ignore the TV series to accommodate them?

I myself would like to see a Buffy Movie only because I wasn't amused with the 1st one they made, well it would be nice to know what happen after season seven without reading the comics considering I don't have a comic book store anywhere where I live. Mean if I wanted to read the comics I'd have to order then from amazon.com or check them out at the library but It'd be nice to know what really happened after season seven instead of reading about it in a comic mean yeah Buffy was in Italy in I believe season five of angel but who knows what happened after that no one.

I think its far different seeking out comic books than to simply switch on your tv and watch the tv. To make a movie that appeals to the vast majority of fans then they cant reference things that happened in the comics because too many people would be lost. And thats not the greatest selling point.

They would reference it. They may not make what happened in it a major story point but there would be references, as there should be. As a movie any characters would be introduced in the same way they were in Serenity. In a way that people who didn't watch the show or read the comics could still enjoy, but there would be in jokes and other things for the people who had.

Yeh I'd agree with Shaun. There's no way they could just ignore everything from the comics. I havn;t been reading them myself but I'd imagine that if there were a Buffy movie made official I would catch up..... as would hopfully a lot of fans. But there also has to be something there for newcomers.
Joss did a great job with Serenity so I have confidence he would do so again with Buffy.
So if this gets off the gound which characters would you like to be heavily involved?

I said earlier I'd like to see it after season 7 but what I meant was between season 7 and season 8. Joss has already said that season 8 IS cannon but also that he would consider scraping some or all of it to make a movie. It'd be nice to know what really happened after season seven instead of reading about it in a comic mean yeah Buffy was in Italy in I believe season five of angel but who knows what happened after that no one. Actually in the comic they've said that this was (kind of) a false lead. That is technically official. So if this gets off the ground which characters would you like to be heavily involved? Well you'd have to stick to the basics. Buffy, Giles, Willow, and Xander are the core. I also suppose Dawn would be likely. I really think that Dawn was underused and if done properly wouldn't be so disliked. I'd also like to see Angel in at least part of the movie because they were always a symbiotic relationship in my opinion. Spike would also likely show up and maybe even Faith or Robin. I think they'd have to be careful about having to many characters though. I think it's unlikely we'd see Anya, Kennedy, or Andrew. It would really revolve around the story. For example if the story was about Tara being raised then obviously....Say wouldn't it be kinda cool if the story had Fray in it? Hmmm.

There are so many possibilities, I'm not even sure what the storyline would be , Xander, Willow, Buffy & Giles would have to be there and yeah, I would expect Spike to show up to. I would like to see Andrew, I quite enjoyed the moments he had with Xander . You want to attract new Viewers, and stay Loyal to your fans who have watched & purchased BTVS , most buffy fans (atleast the majority) have come from the TV show.
